1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  6. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I hate it, you get a different breed of moron visiting a garage on a bank holiday.
From the "slow puncture" that's been going down for months moron to the bellend who wants to drop in "on the off chance" you can do an mot and full service today.

I can tell you now if I wasn't at work today I'd be enjoying myself and not let myself be concerned at the slight wheel wobble on my 8 year old out of shape tyre that only occurs at 68.7mph.
To make matters worse they're all customers, I use that term lightly, that have never been here before and we'll never see again...until the next bank holiday maybe.

That must have been the chap who overturned his Freelander last night at the bottom of Quarry Bank and nearly ended up in the pubs beer garden.

I feel your pain @FerreT985 but it's the age old problem and everybody who works always has the same problem, even you. :(

Lets say for example you want to go to a car garage and you work Mon-Friday 8-5pm in an office.
When you start work it's too early to get to a garage and when you finish work it's too late as they're all closed or will be by the time you get down there.
So your only alternative is to go on the weekend, usually only a Saturday with shortened hours too or when you have time off work, E.g. a Bank Holiday or booked holidays.

The sad fact is we all (well most of us) have to work to pay the bills and are sadly forced each weekend (days off work) to cram everything we have to do or want to do in our lives into 48 measly hours! Then we're back at work to start again!
I've lost count of the number of times I've had a week off work where I should have been relaxing only to spend it sat in a garage/dentist/doctor etc waiting room for bl**dy hours or mending/painting etc etc something at home.

I'm on call this week so no drink for me at all :(
Having said that the mill is off till tomorrow morning but still won't risk it as the wheat cleaning & damping system will kick in at about 5 this afternoon as it needs to be 13 hrs ahead of the mill.
The bonus of this is I get a lieu day to take when it suits me and everyone else is at work :)

I'd rather be at work than sat in waiting for the police forensic officer to come and collect the evidence from my garden. Woke up this morning to find the shed door wide open ,luckily nothing taken from my shed but a few of the neighbours have had things taken. Whoever it was has left gloves other bits including a plastic pint glass (as used in the local pub by the scum that openly take and deal drugs from there)
The temptation to return the pint glass is unreal......but I'm being good and letting plod have a look first.

I was at work last night, left the house at five got home this morning at six thirty. I was only there in case of break downs thankfully they managed to not break anything . It’s amazing how much sleep I got trying to lay down across the seats of a transit connect.

I feel for you - I'm a retail store manager. Bank holidays do indeed attract a very special type of d******d.

We were open 9-5 today yet, we still get the inconsiderate pillock that walks in at 4:55 and thinks you'll stay open as long as they're in the shop.
.......... Not today pal, take your whiney missus and get the **** out

They came out and managed to get some good fingerprints and dna from the pint glass.
If they will do anything with the evidence is another matter, but at least there's another problem linked to the pub recorded now.

The bellends you refer to are not confined to just Bank holidays having spent most of my working life in the motor trade they can appear at any time of the year. A typical example is the person who wants a full service on their car and are going away on holiday, possibly abroad, the following day or day after and get upset when you can't do it at such short notice. This is just one example but there others believe me

@Patrick one of my favourites is the people who don't want any work doing because "I'm selling it next week"
They've been saying it for the last year!

So, you had your shed broken into, and your local police force are actually going to send out a forensics officer? Wow...

Yes and about 4 others in the street were broken into at the same time and there's been a spate of break ins locally where people have had motorbikes stolen and then set on fire, they turned up took the evidence away and the plastic pint glass they left links it to the scum at the local pub, and we had a visit from couple of local coppers and they said they are looking into the trouble from the drug dealing and use at the pub.
If the scumbags hadn't left the gloves and glass behind then I'd have probably just fixed the lock on shed and not done anything about it, but as there was stuff left behind that should help ID the tossers I called the police....... I was only expecting a crime number but I'm glad I called as they seem to be taking it seriously
