1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

Only one mind you :D, but where there's one there have to be more yes? I have finally gone over to my mates farm (Not just the seperate part he owns I have been shooting in). I went ready for first light and was so stealthy the rabbit came through a fence and walked slowly just 10 feet (Yes feet!) in front of me crossing from left to right! It stopped for a split second in surprise and as I was lifting the rifle (surprised myself too), it quickly darted in between a stack of wrapped bales my mate has stored ready for winter. Darn it! Couldn't find it then. It was perfectly clean and healthy looking with a nice shine to its eyes so no mixi either. A little small maybe but an adult for sure.

It was more or less right next to the farm around some of the outbuildings/large barns. So that's where they seem to be and that's where I'll be watching for them from now on! If only it had been 15-20 YARDS away and not 10 feet, it may have sat there longer and I would have had a shot at it . Oh well, just really happy that they are on my mates farm as he has told me and gives a little hope and encouragement that I will get my first one soon! Watch this space! :D

EDIT: Meant to add ----> At that time in the morning there where wood pigeons flying about all over the place! I must have seen at least 20-25 of them in a small area. If only I was still using a shotgun I would have had maybe 3-4 of them as they flew right over my head without seeing me until it was too late!I also saw tons of squirrels too! Those b*****s never seem to stay still long enough to get a clean kill shot though, darting about non-stop all over the place!!!! I tried to sneak up carefully on the pigeons that landed in a tree here and there, but the little blighters always seemed to spot me well before the range of my .22? Something I'll have to work on I guess. Oh, I also saw quite a few magpies and crows and one Jay. All went screeching and cawing way before I could get close enough for a clean shot

Youtube is full of videos of people walking about taking pop shots at all sorts of goodies mate but I'm blowed if it's like that for me..!! I have to mark time on where I see quarry activity and look about for a good ambush position around 20-30 yards from it. I then batch up there a day or two later around an hour earlier and more often then not get results. Same with Pigeons, if you see an area they congregate, sort a hide postion around your zero distance away and batch up there a day or two later, maybe get half a dozen shell decoys to put out too. I'm still learning about decoy pigeon shooting and my biggest bag is only six so far but it's an exciting branch of hunting I really enjoy trying.

As your experience grows mate, you naturally see good opportunistic ambush areas around where you've disturbed quarry......

Yeah, tell me about it . Couldn't help laughing at the term "goodies" :D. I tried what you said the next day and although no rabbits appeared (was very late morning by the time I got there), a squirrel popped out right in front of me, but I was right in the middle of taking a puff on my vapouring thingy and there went another chance lol . I gave up smoking 6 months ago and haven't touched tobacco since, nor do I want to or miss it. Now I need to ditch the vaping thing as it's interfering with my hunting chances lol .
