1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Question Which Air Rifle Stores Will Send You A Genuinely Brand New, Boxed Rifle?

So, granted, I have a bit of OCD. However, I really don't think it's too much to expect that, when you pay for a brand new air rifle, you receive a boxed, untouched, preferably sealed rifle.

This is simple, basic stuff. But I've seen a few horror stories.

Obviously, I know the main online air rifle sellers (though I've only bought from one).

But may I please ask if any of you guys can tell me which online store is the most likely to do their job properly and send a boxed, untouched air rifle?

It's very, very important to me, mates.

    Thank you.

It will be impossible to achieve that with some guns as the importer needs to modify them for the UK sub 12ftlbs restrictions....

A UK dealer won't be able to send you any new air rifle...

Some do home deliveries. Others send it to a local dealer near you. In any case, do you have any suggestions RE the original question, man?

Pretty easy to tell if the rifle has been used IMO, so receiving an open box wouldn't bother me that much TBH. I'd much rather a RFD open a box prior to despatch to check the rifle over condition wise and that all, if any, accessories are present - mate received a PCP not so long ago that was sealed, but no mags or fill probe were in the box.

I kind of suspected this might happen, but I have the awful feeling that most people want to keep their best stores close to their chest :(

If you are very particular, I'd be making a phone call to the RFD for a conversation about the condition of the advertised gun as opposed to buying blind online. It's fair to assume that a lot of guns for sale online will be on display in an RFD and may have been shouldered/dry fired numerous times.

RFD`s need to test each air rifle before they are sold in store or transferred to another RFD to insure they are under the UK legal power limit so I doubt you`d ever get a sealed, untouched gun.

Oh, I will be phoning to confirm the condition of a potential rifle, mate (very politely, obviously).

What does RFD actually stand for, by the way?

Lads, I hate to point this out again, but none of you have given me your picks for the best store to buy from.

Personally I would have no problem buying from either the AGC (https://www.theairguncentre.com/deliveries) or Pellpax (https://www.pellpax.co.uk/page/pellpax-delivery)

However, I would strongly advise buying face to face unless you are 100% certain of the rifle that you want to buy and have handled/tested one before committing to an online purchase.

Thank you, bro. Yeah, Pellpax was the store I bought from.

I've not come across the other one. I'll certainly have a good look at it.

I presume Sportsman Gun Centre and Solware don't have the best reputations?

I definitely know which rifle I want. Non-FAC, by the way.

I have never bought online from a shop and doubt I ever will. second hand is mainly from here if at all and only if I trust someone, otherwise it tends to be people o shoot with for the same reason.
RFD is always my port of call for a new gun, as it gives you a chance to see it and try one, assuming there is somewhere to shoot. If not, I know I can take it back if there is a problem.
If you have to buy online there’s not a lot around that will deliver so it’s very limited. Know a few that have bought from pellpax, some good and some not so good so it’s really up to you.

had a fair few from solware and always been perfect, but as far as I know don’t deliver. If they do them I’d go with them without hesitation.

Is there a reason why you can't or won't go into your nearest gun shop?
