1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I shoot at my club, Bury Rifle Club, but I'm also lucky enough to have an understanding boss, who's let me set up a 10m range in the warehouse at work, so that I can practise every dinner time.

    IMG_0169.jpg

Here's what I can see through my spotting scope.

    IMG_0162.jpg

This card was a good one for me. I wish that I could shoot this well all the time. I've been shooting for around 4 months, and my average is around 72 (non-metric scoring) for 10 shots on an ISSF 10m air pistol card. It's rare that I get all 10 shots in the black so far, so I'm really chuffed when it happens. :D

At Mattersey Rifle and Pistol club & at work, I I'll moles, rabbits and pigeons in a very large warehouse,

It's crazy how it worked out but patience, persistence, paid off,

I have shared it with lots of people over the last six years to let them have a no cost, safe, stalk on rabbits with rimfires 17hmr and custom 22's

 Cheers Alan! I never knew about this. It's only 15 miles from me. May well take a ride out at the weekend.

EDIT: Scrap that just seen the membership fees!!!
    Adult : £206
    Child : £72
    * £100 joining fee for adults

I'll stick to what I've got. A handful of small perms and Trackside indoor range when the weather is poor.

Normally the back garden got about 30m, or on my permission but not the now both waterlogged!!!

Going to try asking the guy who runs the village hall, maybe I might get 25m indoor during the winter.

    Got major withdrawal symptoms!!!!!

At Castleton Air Rifle Club in Castleton Village Hall near Cardiff and in my back garden. Both of which don't offer much more than 10-13 metres but I'll take any shooting opportunity I can get.

    Hello Donki

What you have to look at is this is a large fullbore range with 10 ranges with 100 yard range for up to 338 lapua cartridges

There is a Air Rifle range now and it has to be sorted out with the committee if air rifle range will be a stand alone club in its own right

Without a police consent check you cannot attend the range, also if part of the proposed air rifle club, you still cannot visit the live firing ranges,

The rules we have to bend over and accept take a bit of getting used too

I go to a local rifle club with a 25m range when I can, other than that I go to a neighbours field which is around 80m long (not that I can shoot that far). Working on getting some premissions when I get my aim back to what it used to be before I took a break from airguns.

On my front porch if I want, don't matter if its the air rifle, 9mm, 22lr or shot gun, now thats real freedom. Want to go fishing ? Suwannee river just across the road or the gulf 30 minutes away, want to go swimming ? springs all around with crystal clear water at 72 degrees all year round. Want a gun, go to local walmarts & walk out with any rifle you desire. Want some meat for the freezer, turkey, deer & hogs abound.

Ive just had a mental count Ive now got 8 farms to shoot over, on my doorstep.

I was out shooting rabbits this afternoon thinking when I was in my teens I wouldn't have dreamed of having the land Ive got permission on now, all I can say is persistence and professionalism pays off in the end.

If you call 30,000 deaths a year freedom, you can keep it. ;)

I like Pete's Farm, but can't get down there as often as I would like to.

My parents have a large garden with earth banks at the end, at a push I could get around 80m there.

I will probably take one of my sons to Springfield ARC more regually once the weather improves a bit.

I shoot at Kinver ARC on Sunday mornings when work allows, and Furnace Mill, open every day which is great considering the shifts I work.

I am lucky enough to have a big backyard (5 acres) I have my own 55yard range setup with two lanes for air rifles with three Ft targets set in each lane and another 70yard lane for the longbow which is simply a roped off area with some spray painted hay bales down the end to aim at.
