1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Hi all,

Posted a CP88 to a fellow forum member this morning via Special Delivery (long story short - Auld git behind the counter wasn't for it at all 'till I got her boss out who ok'd it, said RMSD was the only option). Tracking info this morning showed as processing through network blah blah, but has now vanished?

The above is what I've been getting from when I got home from work tonight, to the present.

Is there anything pings up if your pistol is sent to Ireland? Do I have to call and chase it up? I've received a couple of pistols sent via RMSD, both with no problems. There was nothing prohibited in the package, just a low power air gun, couple of mags (empty) and a tin of pellets. No pressure vessels of any sort.

Should I be worried, or is it all a bit premature?

I've read a few horror stories of late, and I guess it just has the spooks up me. Anyways, any advice appreciated.

    Ta much,

    Mick

Your best bet, is to contact Royal mail by Email ( so you have a record of contact ) and ask why the traking details are not showing up on their web site.

Oh and in reply to the OP....

You should have started to worry the moment you handed it over the counter!

When I sent two pistols via rmsd, both times the tracking data was never shown until the parcel was delivered and signed for.I wouldn't worry unless it's like a day late.:)parcelforce always seems to be tractable but not rmsd.

Although if sent without any co2 pressure vessels and in accordance with R M rules you would expect it to reach its destination, in my experience R M do not want to handle guns or related items of any kind and will try to make life as difficult as possible for you.
As you are sending from Scotland to England ( presumably), the parcel has to travel by air and will therefore have been x rayed. It will almost certainly be on its way to Belfast for inspection and possible destruction ( their words). If you get the dreaded letter from R M expect a wait of about 3 weeks before they deliver it.
This is based on my own experiences, and despite the fact that your parcel complies with their rules they do not care.
Only ever send any airgun, airsoft gun or related items by Parcelforce 48, this is the only service from RM that is acceptable, and works without problem.
    Pete.

RMSD tracking is a joke, that message wont change till its signed for.The fact you are in Scotland mate,i would not have used RMSD.
The scottish RM x-ray machine operater,s are a little sensitive to anything gun, rifle shaped....and i know!...It still could be on its way.
RMCS can tell you when it was last scanned, call them tomorow, after 1pm.They wont know were it is,till it gets scanned again, but keep an eye on there tracking website,if it gets sent to Belfast, the message will change....hopefuly not.

I think it has got to the point where you really need to think twice about what you buy cause if you decide it is not for you how are you going to safety get it delivered to someone else?
Maybe it is RMs way of helping up avoid buying stuff we don't really need :)

Cheers, folks. I would have used PF, but the nice lady in the post office wasn't having any of it. I'd already spent 10 minutes arguing my case, and just let her have one small victory.

Tracking information has now changed at least. Comes up with:

The joys, eh? Dunno, just odd that I've recieved probably 4 pistols (and one rifle) from down South no probs. I try to send one, it vanishes into the ether. Sent the fella an email just after I posted it with the receipt etc, just don't want him waiting three weeks for his new gun.

I never took my rifle to the post office,i took it over to the Parcel Force Depo, and what a stress free experience it was.
We are all wiser after the fact, fingers crossed it gets through okay.In the mean time, stick your tracking number in the link below. Its
a RM tracking website, but it gives you more info, rather than the same stupid message, the other one gives you. That is the tracking site that will stick up a Return Centre mesaaged if its of over the water.

Got that tracking website of a guy on the RM Chat forum....
Just keep an eye on it,you want "out for delivery" or similar, then your worries over.
Stay away from RMSD for anything gun related, apart for a scope,or the likes.I used to sware by them...not any more.
