1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Well the term "playing" might be a bit of a veiled denigration Ragnar......;):D
We all like "playing" with our little pretend guns, be it at the range or the garden. Although can I say that my Umarex Colt M4 shoots lead pellets (.177) @ 11.6 ftlbs and is surprisingly accurate and does boast quite a crisp trigger. And all my other Mil replicas are pellet firing as are my western replicas. Not a BB in sight.:thumb:

And please don't go mate, your contributions here are good and banterful.

Have to agree, doesn't make much sense to make replica guns a problem.

Ive been shooting for over 40 years and started with an air pistol (my dads 1944 Webley senior, taught by him) then got an air rifle , then started doing firearm target rifle shooting. After a few years I moved onto firearm pistol target shooting and owned my own well known real pistols. They were banned in 90's so I moved back to airguns and replicas were got so I could keep using what I previously regular shot.

So why no replicas and why not supported. Don't agree. Get any type of airgun and enjoy it!

Why oh why, do people leave post's using using word's most people don't understand. Is it to try to give the impression to the rest following the thread, that they are somehow intellectually superior to the person they are replying?. Let me just say it does not impress me, when commenting on a public forum using words half the people don't even understand. Most on here tend to communicate using language they know everybody understands clearly, to make it easy for everybody whilst getting their point across clearly. Instead they use word's knowing full well most people are not familiar.. Have they not even the intelligence to use language all would clearly understand? It don't impress anybody, and don't do you any favours.. Arrogant p***k springs to mind every time I see people leaving post's this way.. If this is how they act behind a keyboard, speaks volumes don't it..

    Sorry for rant.. :focus:

For me its each to their own regarding whatever they prefer to shoot, as long as they are safe, responsible and most of all enjoy it. :thumb:

Love them .The umarex legends stuff is fantastic. If I told you fifteen years ago that you can buy an MP40 ,colt .45 with shells or broom handle mauser you'd have told me to behave .
As for Winchesters with loading and cycling of brass shells at affordable prices .....German genius ! they never stop pushing and should be applauded .

That's a nice military derived assault rifle .AR platform ,Built from the ground up for a single purpose, for an infantry soldier and as you say yourself ,designed to do a job .Admittedly hobbled ref straight pull .Your rifle is built for the rigours of being in the field ,ease of maintenance, arduous conditions ,mass production, cheap to bang out ...cost ,capacity ,portability .Most of which wouldn't affect you at all down the range .You obviously like the tactical ,military look yourself ...do you fantasize too ? just a little bit ? .
I don't agree that blokes that wanna have a play and pretend are necessarily " idiots!" ...if so there's a lot of " idiots" about .Lot on here too.Damn ! even got cowboys and Five star Generals at the AGF .

I don’t like replica guns personally but it’s up to the individual as to what they like.

Not all replica owners are idiots, but all idiots tend to have replicas.

Oh ok ...thanks for clarification. Not sure about that one but thank you .If you are correct then perhaps replicas should be outlawed .Prevent enhanced idiocy from the majority of idiots .

Interestingly a US state, Boston, Illinois or similar is intending to ban all replica guns shortly, however they have defined a replica as anything that doesn't use powder to propel the projectile, hence airguns are to be banned in the legislation also.
