1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

When I first joined the forum I was eager to buy a new rifle only to find out the rifles I was interested in came in right hand stocks only :(. So I homed in on the ones I liked that was available in a left h stocks or so I thought, firstly the prosport thought it would be good to own a second rifle that was different than my 410 to shoot, a springer one of the best looking air rifles available only to find out it's been discontinued in a lefty stock. I will always be on the look out for one of these though. I then tried to get my hands on a Parker Hale pheonix mkll only to be confronted by a very strange way of purchasing one and unless I can find a way of obtaining one without the risk of being ripped off that's another one down :(.
So who knows what's available in left or ambi stocks 1k and under thx, ideally something a bit different from my 410 :).

    Thx Rick.

Surely they could have just swapped the stocks around? Inletting should be identical regardless of calibre.

Ideally you'll be wanting a true LH rifle I imagine, rather than just a LH stock. Personally I'm of the opinion (generally speaking) that if a manufacturer can't be arsed to make a rifle that fits me properly (rather than having to put up with the bolt being the wrong way round) I'll give my money to their competition.

Similarly I generally say b*llocks to ambi stocks, since they're always a compromise ergonomically and again if I'm spunking hundreds of pounds on a gun I want it to fit properly.

In terms of brand new rifles from the bigger players that are available in true LH (LH stock and LH / Naturally Ambi action):

    AA S400 / S410 Walnut
    AA TX200 Mk3 / HC Walnut

    Daystate Huntsman Regal
    Daystate Mk4

    Weihrauch HW97k (I think)

Next best - guns that are available with an ambi stock and LH / naturally ambi action:

    AA S400/S410 Superlite
    AA S400 MPR

    Daystate Air Wolf
    Daystate Wolverine

    Weihrauch HW99s
    Weihrauch HW95k
    Weihrauch HW77k

Bottom of the pile - guns that have a RH action and ambi stock:

    AA S510 Superlite
AA S510 Ultimate Sporter (pretty much they only ambi stock that's actually any good, IMO)

    Weihrauch HW100T

    BSA Ultra SE
    BSA Scorpion SE
    BSA R10
(Not including the BSA springers as I don't know a lot about them and they're all Censored anyway).

In addition I think Brocock are pretty good for serving left-handers, but I'm not sure exactly what they offer in terms of stocks and actions.

So in judged by the LH criteria, Air Arms are your friend (although not as much as they used to be ) Daystate are very good, BSA and Weihrauch are crap.

I have a number of LH AA 400 series guns and think they're pretty much as good as you'll get IMO

I think I might try a little harder to get my hands on the phoenix mkll most of the other rifles available are not a million miles from my s410 if you know what I mean.
I was almost tempted to buy a TX200 when I found out the prosport had been discontinued in the lefty stock but finally decided to wait until a prosport becomes available.

I have a left master eye but I am right handed,so I shoot left handed but have a right hand bolt,it works well for me.I had to get Darrin at xtx to fit a l/h stock and keep the r/h bolt and I love it.it really is annoying that l/h shooters are so hard done to when looking for leftie rifles, I can accept that on the scale of things lefties are a minority but why can't the big gun makers still provide a correctly fitting product for us.l/h guns are or were at least £80-100 pound's dearer in some cases which Is annoying but iwould still pay extra to get a true left stock.

I'm a bit luckier than some in that I shoot left handed but prefer a right handed action (don't ask - I don't know why).

So I've got an S200 - ambi stock/RH action, Brummie Webley Raider - ditto, and a Mk I PH Phoenix - totally ambi, including reversable safety.

For reasons best known to myself I've also got an RH TX200 - I just slightly reshaped the comb on the cheekpad to make it more comfortable, not a perfect solution (I always meant to buy an LH stock for it but never got round to it because it shoots like a dream).

Had to wait six weeks to get my Regal in a Left Hand Stock/Bolt but it was worth the wait (costs £53 extra as well for us Lefties)!

I've been shooting my 410 for 2 year with a left hand stock and right hand bolt never had a problem but the new brass bolt I bought could be mounted left or right and changing the bolt action to suit the bolt on the left was very easy. Now I can't believe I put up with the right handed bolt for so long yeah I managed fine but now it feels natural :D
