  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

Just throwing a question out as I have been shooting for a long time and have tried a fair few pellets and found that RWS Superdomes to be amongst the better pellets I have tried.

The work well in pretty much any gun I have owned or shot in .177 and .22 and they are often sold at a reasonable price.

What are peoples favourite or 'go to' pellet when they get a new gun.

I understand that this question will depend on what gun you have and what you use it for but it would be nice to see peoples opinions.

    List of nicer pellets IMO:
Crosman Premier & Holowpoints, Diana High Power, SMK Blacks Domed, Any RWS, Bisley magnums (I think)

    List of my Worst are:
Most of SMK cheap ammo, anything by Milbro, Norica, BSA Elite

RWS Superdomes are a great starting point in most rifles/pistols. I use .22 RWS Superfields in all my guns since I buy them in bulk and they tend to be good and consistent with vary few damaged skirts. I should investigative further really but for my plinking needs they fit the bill very nicely.

If anyone has a Hatsan Mod 60S try .22 RWS Superpoint as they grouped really well with it.

    That'd be me then :)

1st RWS Superdomes and as you say, rarely a damaged skirt in several tins.

2nd H&N FTT's. Couldn't get these to group until I recently re-learned how to shoot a heavy recoil springer properly . Now H&N FTT are almost as good as RWS Superdomes!!

3rd Crosman Premier Ultra Magnums. Pretty good. Ran out of a few left in tin given to me before any serious testing could be done

4th. JSB Exacts. Couldn't hit a barn door with these even though I am well aware how popular they are with lots of people. Not the pellets fault I guess? My barrel just can't work with them

Not tried any other brands yet. I do intend to try other RWS pellets such as Superfields etc and see if they're as good as superdomes. The JSB Exacts came off eBay and half of the 500 have partially flattened or damaged skirts . No idea why, but I wouldn't buy them again until I bought a different rifle. RWS/H&N get the job done so well for me, seems good to just keep using them :)

Nobody like the Defiants? They are superb pellets provided you get the right head size and give them a chance to condition the barrel. You can speed the process up by cleaning the barrel well first - one congealed lump of lead in the plywood target board at 50 yards through my Scorpion T10 and they do much the same through the SLR98, only at 40 yards.

JSB Exacts 13.5gn through the .20 Rapid

Accupell and Verminpell are another great pellet pair, same weight and in the three rifles I use them through, both these pellets go to the same point of aim out to 35 yards - I wouldn't use a flat head beyond this range anyway, but it is useful to be able to just swap for the Verminpell when knocking the ferals off the beams in the grain store or feed mill - and rats anywhere!

I sold my Mod 60S which was pre-quattro trigger, dunno if that'll make a difference with the RWS Superpoint or not. I've never really tried JSB Exacts in my HW100 or TX200. Maybe it's time for another sample pack off ebay?
