1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

  6. IMPORTANT - SALES RULES - PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING!

Do not list items for sale or swap on this forum that you have listed elsewhere.
Ads for items that are listed elsewhere will be deleted without notice and repeated infractions of this nature will result in restricted access to the sales section.

All sales threads should have a photo of the item with your username and date written on a piece of paper next to the item for sale.
    More info and guidelines here.

Do not list items for sale on behalf of other people, you must own the item that is for sale.

Please make sure you have also filled in your private seller details in your profile.
If you haven't already, please click here and add your details.

Please note that submitted ads are not visible until manually approved by the mod team, and that those that do not conform to the rules will not be approved.

Finally, to make our life easier please report your completed listings & mark them as sold :)

What Have You Got........?

    Hello everyone,

I have decided to put the feelers out around a prospective swap on my ‘one-off’ Gamo Coyote. I bought the original gun after reading all the positive noises about the potential of it as a starter gun here on the forum. It has never disappointed in that sense. The basics are solid in these BSA sourced PCPs; with the BSA action and cold hammer forged barrel meaning you get a lot of gun for not a lot. It even seemed to get the (qualified) thumbs up from Cloverleaf in his very good review of its mechanicals. Gamo has its haters – but if you aren’t influenced by names and actually look past the name and what you actually get - think it can hold its own....

This is a sport for me and also a hobby, so I thought I’d like to see where I could take this particular gun, and have spent a lot more than I bought it for, on the modifications. That’s why I’m looking for a swap as it’s hard to put a figure on what it’s worth. I may entertain selling it if nothing comes up as a swap, but will advertise it if I do. The most obvious modification is the stock – which is a bespoke one, made by a AGF member Tom Davies for me. I wanted a classic ‘Sporter’ style in black pepper; and he certainly didn’t disappoint.

I talked through the design with Tom and gave him pretty much free rein but did ask for some specifics, so the gun has some styling based on the Theoben Rapid MkII around the trigger guard; and the fore-stock has a touch of the Daystate Regal in how it curves down – or at least to my old eyes . Anyway, I was really pleased with what Tom was able to do; and I also sourced a matching bolt for it – which although from a different laminate batch – matches pretty well.

In terms of the action – it’s been to Phil at Ratworks. It has been tuned and fitted with a Tench Regulator and both magazines it comes with have been worked on by Phil too so they fit the gun. As you can see from the print out form, it was making a consistent 11.59 in FPE at the time of testing. Now its settled down, it has pushed that up slightly. I’ve just run 20 through it 10 Straton 10 AA Diabolo Hunter and the string is shown below:

    Shot count: 20
    Low: 11.4
    Hi: 11.9
    Avg: 11.6
    Spread: 0.5
    STD Dev: 0.2

    11.8
    11.8
    11.7
    11.9
    11.8
    11.8

As you can see its really performing with circa 15.89 grain pellets. It really isn’t pellet fussy either and shoots most stuff consistently.

I’ve also included in the photos a target of JSB Hades, Stratons and AA Diabolo Hunters all shot at 25 yards in a slight wind using my tripod. I’m not the best shot TBF, so think in the hands of someone half decent – the groups will improve. However, it can even make me look good, and I’ve been using it as my evening/early morning bunny gun, and have taken quarry at 43 yards with it.

So why am I moving it on? As said, I see this as a hobby and love to try new things and I have a bullpup itch I need to scratch now…. and willing to add some cash for the right one too. Work is manic for me at the moment, so there may be a delay in getting back to this thread, but will check in as required every day. Alternatively, please feel free to drop me a PM too.

So, I’m looking for a swap for a bullpup with a cylinder rather than a bottle - preferably in .177. I also had a Compatto a while ago that I didn’t get on with at the time, but thinking about giving that another go. I’m also happy to post via PF if you are too?

Just to be clear, the things that are not included with the swap are the scope, rings or Eaglevision rail. It will come with 2 x BSA magazines, fill probe and a Weihrauch ½ UNF Silencer.

If you have read this far you must be interested……so go on, drop me a line, and thanks for looking!

Changes made - photos now include name and date, thanks. a1.jpeg ratworks_LI.jpg

Approved. Good luck with the swap. :)

Be sure to check for activity at least once every 24 hours. It's best to click on 'Watch Thread' to be automatically alerted to any new posts.

Please state 'Sorted' when complete; we will then move the thread to the Sales Graveyard.

    Thank you.
