90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

i saw on adverts that virgin were giving their new customers the latest tivo box and i was stuck with the old style one...so i decided to be cheeky and phoned them and told them my tivo box wasnt working, could i get a replacement...they said they would send a signal to test the equipment so i turned it off lol 2 hours later they agreed to send me a replacement.....the latest tivo v6 box

its got a bigger hard drive...its faster...better quality hd picture and its smaller in size, can record 6 channels while watching another and the best bit...a remote finder function by holding a button on the box the remote beeps until you find it lol.....
also my little girl now has the old tivo box in her room now so she can watch cartoons while she plays :)

i think they should offer these to existing customers as matter of fact, not just when you have a faulty set top box

Nothing better than being sneaky and taking advantage of a multinational who'd do everything they can to take advantage of their customers :D good work!

Most companies couldn't care less about retaining customers, only signing up new ones!
Sky,BT and Virgin are getting very expensive.

Carl, I got one of the new Tivo boxes when they first came out on Virgin, put my name down early for one, they are so much better than the old box, I rarely watch live tv now, record everything I want to watch, then watch it via Tivo and fast forward thru all the ads, and as you say, it can record more channels now too, great stuff.... :thumb:

I keep ringing them to take their old crap away, have two TV boxes and 4 routers here that they never seem to want back! They don't belong to me like the Sky one's I had.

What should I do with them?

    Nice result btw Carl! :thumb:

Nice result ... we did this with Sky and upgraded to the latest Sky+ .... big mistake, when it worked it was very good but we had three new boxes in 5 months and then told them it was 5hit and reverted to the normal Sky. the engineers that came out all said the Sky+ was flawed and they either work from the get go or they end up continually replacing them.

When you complain they listen as they don't want to lose customers but they new customer enticements never get offered to the existing customers unless asked for.

Reminds me think its been a year since going internet only with virgin, go to cancellations saying im going to leave as it costs to much, see how much i can get the price down for another 12 months.

Steve when i went internet only they sent a pre paided black bag to put the old TV box and hub 2 in, with a letter saying they would charge me for them if i didnt send them back.

I had the same situation with Virgin, sent it all back in a black bag pre-labelled.

Never had this with Sky though.

Virgin are pretty good for this. I ring up every few months to ask if theyve got any deals on and quite often theyre happy to knock my tarriff about and take a few quid off.
Best ive got was a reduction of £35 per month. Dont always get it but its worth a shot.

I'll give them one last chance to collect their junk, I have two carrier bags full of it and it's pee'ing me off moving them around all the time.

If they fail to collect or send a box with postage... they go down the tip! It's been nearly two years now.
