1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

There's nothing wrong with being nice, whether to a human or an animal.

Couldn't look at the link, cruelty to anything enrages me!!

Don't treat anything differently to how you would expect to be treated yourself!

This thread is about a poor abused dog who was lucky enough to be rescued by a good human being. It shows the milk of human kindness so lacking in todays culture/society.

If you're unhappy with the way the Government or U.K charities handles childrens welfare that's another thread entirely. Start one if you feel that strongly.....

There's no need to start a new threat if I want to comment on the current one, which I do, who mentioned "the Government or U.K charities" as I certainly didn't.

This post shows certain peoples views and priorities in life....ANIMALS! I can't and don't get worked up about animal rights or issues when there's so much cruelty, poverty and neglect shown towards mankind.

Let's start by showing your "milk of human kindness so lacking in todays culture/society" towards other people rather than animals to start with, I think I've got my priorities right.

Well on the otherside of the spoon I'm an animal lover through and through and effing despise the so-called 'humans' that abuse them especially dogs.
It's a good heartwarming story of a dog that would have certainly died if it not for a kind soul. Have you no room in your cold black heart for this kind of humanity? Only hold morals to humans and sod the rest?

Cold black heart....perhaps, but the word I've stressed is Priorities as I feel we, and I do mean we, can sometimes get our priorities wrong.

I mean no offence to anyone that's contributed to this thread but these are my views and I'm sure as you can guess I'm not an animal lover and have no pets but I do have 5 sons and 2 grandchildren that I will do anything for along with any other needy or neglected or just children in general.

Not sure if it was on this forum or another one I frequent but there was a thread a couple years back:

Which would you save... Your drowning dog or a strangers drowning child?

I'll let you guess my answer...And yes I am a Dad...

Unfortunately Asia has very bad animal rights, dogs are boiled alive to be eaten whilst they are still twitching, baby terapins are given in plastic bags with chemicals in so they stay alive for about 12hours as a gift. I'm sure I remember fish being served up alive to be eaten and also they badly stun/bolt cattle which still try to stand up whilst being slaughtered or have there throats cut, not to mention shark fin soup which is made by cutting the fins off of sharks straight after being caught and then there alive finless body sinks to the bottom of the see.

I don't care if it's an animal or human it shouldn't happen. One thing humans have more so then animals is strong emotional logic so we should use it as oppossed to just acting like the top of the food chain predator disregarding the emotions and welfare of animals....

I'm no hippy, but if you can't see a problem with it then you obviously wouldn't mind your pet going that way....

I've got a few mates that treat their dogs like children and talk to them as if they can understand them and that upto them but I think it's rediculios. I think a dog will be happier being treated like a dog atb

I beg to differ because If I saw a person (child or adult) drowning then I'd be straight in, no question but if it was an animal drowning I would try and save it but there's no way on earth I would even consider putting mine or any other person life in danger in doing so unlike some of these idiots that jump in or crawl on to ice and end up killing themselves as well as some others such as fire fighters, bystanders trying to then save them.

The couple in the link below both in their 20's drowned in a raging river near me some 18 months ago trying to save their dog that got in to trouble whilst swimming in a swollen river, tragic but also bloody stupid.

Do you know how animals are killed in this country for Muslim and Jewish people........do you protest against it? I know but I don't protest, just and I know how all non-halal animals are killed for their meat in our country as I'm a meat eater and see them as part of the food chain?
