90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Been looking at putting a tuning kit in my HW95k just to reduce recoil really and to get rid of the twang.

Had it through a crono the other week and over 3 shots produced 11.4, 11.3, 11.4 which I’m happy with as it’s safely under the limit but not severely underpowered.

I’ve seen that V Mach aren’t currently producing because of the ‘big C’ situation and was wondering what are people’s thoughts on the TBT kit?

Also, how often are people having to strip straight after as it’s running above 12ft/lbs?

    Cheers

I'm sure tbt has the measurements for preload to get it in the ball park for power.

The TBT kit is good, but the spring will need cutting

My 95k has a tbt kit in and it is smooth but the gun was rough as hell when i stripped it just a day after getting it i stripped it many issues from swarf to the pin block hole being well of line .
The kit i fitted helped it be smoother but i have so much on not got round to shooting a couple of hundred through it to settle it in more .
Tbt kits are good but then again i have a welsh willy kit in a BSA mercury and the gun shoots nearlt as softly as a pcp other than the noise the gun makes .
I guess you got to buy one and try and if you find you don't like it try another , i am happy with both .

    stay safe shoot straight

Be aware, "Drop in" kits work on a one size fits all principal, rather than be manufactured to a specific spring, and springs vary. Even when purchased with spring, may not ensure correct fit. My 95K had a top hat so loose it would drop out end of spring, matched to a guide so tight that when replaced with a properly fitting guide, I was able to remove one coil from spring, still getting 11.4 fpe, but with a much smoother action.
"Drop in" should not be equated to a V Mach tune, which will add value, but there are others, including @shauny who will supply guides made to fit a specific spring, together with advice regarding choice of spring.

    ChrisR7676,

Welsh Willy,Shauny, and Wonky Donky make, for me, the best quality / best workmanship drop in kits.

    I highly recommend them.

    Have fun & a good weekend :)

    Best regards

Can't speak for Welsh Willy, but regarding @shauny and @wonky donky their workmanship elevates to tuning rather than "drop in".
Some people might get lucky with off the shelf guides, or have a spring that fits the guide. In my case guide was better fit in a Titan 10 rather than loose in the original AA spring for which it was meant. Most aftermarket guides will deliver some improvement. but the price of getting it right in many cases compares favourably with the price of a less well engineered product. We are lucky to have such talent amongst our membership.

Is that a case of sending the gun off to them to be tuned rather getting a kit sent to me? Cheers

    Chris,

Welsh Willy has closed his walk-in premises, and supplies only kits now.

WRT Shauny & Wonky Donky, you can either buy a kit from them to fit yourself, or send the rifle to be fettled.

    Have fun & a good weekend :)

    Best regards

Currently Welsh Willy have a 25-30 day waiting period whereas the TBT is on shelf. I’m looking at just the guide and washers and not the short stroke and additional spring. This will give me a chance just to clean up the standard spring and polish the ends etc.

@shauny will only require your spring to return with appropriate guides. I've sent springs on a Friday and had them posted back to me on the Monday.

Ah that’s pretty handy then. I’m guessing you highly recommend his work? What’s included in the tune kit? Just a guide to match the spring or washers etc?
    Cheers

Just echoing what others have said, make sure the guide fits the spring. The only way to achieve this is to buy the spring and guides as a set, or send your spring to the maker so they match the guide to your spring.
Having had several first hand experiences, it distills to Shauny or Welsh William.
