1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I had an email from Interlink yesterday saying my parcel was en route and giving me a time slot. On the email was a live tracking button so I gave it a click.

Wow, it gave actual GPS coordinates to where the driver was and I could watch it getting closer and closer street by street. As it happened the parcel had the wrong address on it so it required a phone call to get it redelivered.

When I mentioned the tracking to the driver he wasn't aware that he was being tracked !

Ok so I am sad watching a parcel travel but that is pretty good tracking info.

Had one company sending emails every few minutes updating the status of a parcel recently (think it was DPD) also telling me the drivers name and a time slot within a couple of minutes when the delivery would take place, must have been GPS tracked to get info that finely tuned!

Think it's a bit OTT, feel sorry for the drivers as I know how stressful multi-drop delivery is!

Yup, not sure I would like my every move tracked either. It even gives the sequence too "currently delivering No 47, you are number 51 estimated time to delivery 15 minutes"

spent an entire morning last week waiting for a parcel from dpm and was watching the progress on their tracking site one minute it was 10mins away the next time i looked (about 15mins later) it had changed to sorry you parcel wasn't delivered as no one was in to sign for it
now i'd stopped at home especially for this parcel as i was expecting some stainless steel to make some parts so straight on the phone to dpm and as you can imagine i was a tad miffed (not with the girl on the phone as she was doing her best to help me) after about a hour of not being happy with them on the phone the driver eventually came back only to find it was a bl***y soup maker that no one had told me was ordered
wasn't best pleased as i had alot on that week

and if your neighbour is untrustworthy like some of mine, they won't pass on the parcel to you or admit they have it and tracking shows it's delivered, sometimes with GPS co-ordinates to back up the driver... you're stuffed, the courier considers you to have your parcel.

I always leave a note on purchase where possible: Don't leave with neighbours!

Goes to show your neighbours are not very good as they didn't let you know they had it for 4 days.

Don't trust my immediate neighbour as far as I could throw her .... I renew my car tax online with the DVLA and three years back had to contact them as the new disc had obviously been lost in the post. No problem and they put a replacement in the post right away. About a year later, I get a letter for her stuck through my door and took it round as its the neighbourly thing to do ... before I leave she say's, 'Hang on a minute, I've got one of yours.' Hands me a letter from the DVLA that has been opened and, guess what, it's last year's tax disc that she hadn't managed to bring the 35yds between us !!! :mad2:

funny story, 2 years ago i had a new set of front shocks delivered and the foreign guy 2 doors along took them in. i nipped along after i seen the card and ended up in the middle of a sham marriage arrest. all undercover police cars (never knew), knocked and asked if they had a package for me, next thing dragged in the house and interrogated as a suspect.
15 mins later let out and photographed by the local rag.

So she openly admitted that she was going to commit a criminal offense by mail tampering? Opening mail not addressed to her.

Your neighbours appear to be endowed with the same moral compass as mine!

Up here most of the main courier companies won't deliver, or only come once a week. I always have a chuckle when ordering stuff on the phone and the assure me it'll be delivered next day.

Most stuff ends up at a depot in Inverness from whence a local delivery company (AJG) collect and deliver the last leg of the way. These guys are great and will usually go out of their way to make sure you get it, or know to leave it somewhere safe.
