1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

Yesterday morning I woke at 4.30 for some daft reason and couldn't get back to sleep so I got up and went to work. I am fortunate that some of my butchery work I can do when I like, come and go as I please at the bison farm. I know it was going to be a nice day so that fact in mind the van was loaded up with toys.

By 10 am I was finished so went for a walk round the farm, Steve the stockman was doing some shooting over the drilling next to the farm and I thought my best chances were from one of the sheds next to theses fields. Took out my early mark 1 Rapid 7 (with the extra long barrel) couple of mags plus the dog. It was turning into a beautiful day and there was lots of birds moving in the sky after each bang from Steve.

Made my way round to the barns as it was perfect place for ambushing. Very dark inside so acts as good camouflage especially when dogs black and white. After a short wait the crack of a shotgun moved the birds again with half dozen crows landed in the tree outside just over 30 yards. Had to tread the barrel through the wooden slats to get a shot what a job. Dropped the cross hairs on one and squeezed the trigger, with a thud, a flap scarring the rest it dropped out the branches. Then had to tread the barrel back again.

One down and a hole lot of squawking from the rest in the air. Same tree 10 minutes later the branches filled with rooks but all on the wrong side of the tree. Just couldn't get a clear shot as the barrel was becoming a burden, had to sit this on out. They danced about about for an age, swapping branches and fluttering about it one presented its self. Another bagged! After too and fro with the barrel.

By this time the sun was hot and the crows, rooks and jackdaws were all in the grass next to me sunning themselves. To many to count and way out of reach. So I headed out to collect my quarry, before heading back.

Packed up and Steve had to seeing as all was in the grass and not the freshly drilled land. Said my goodbyes and nipped over the road for lunch. Not a bad spot for a sandwich and a flak of tea. With my bench set up I did a bit of load development on my 6.5x55 and .243 Then spent the rest of the afternoon shooting my Rapid at tin cans and knock down targets.

She is super accurate with the barrel at 21 inches and I'm reluctant to cut it down. But I've an 18 inch walther barrel in my workshop that has just found a new home, if it's as accurate. Funny the more get back to hunting with air the more I miss the BSA R10 short and compact.

Up here in Leicestershire is like "ground hog day"

Not sure about the "mounted in Leicestershire" but I'm going to give it a go.
