1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

I have just ordered a new scope and it's being delivered this morning. Well, that's the airgun related bit done lol :D

However, what I really wanted to say is this. It's being delivered by DPD. I have had DPD bring stuff to me for years (mainly PC parts as I build/upgrade my own etc) and I've always found them to be very reliable and just a good all round service/company.

So I get an email earlier with a link to track my parcel. I haven't had DPD bring anything to me for a long time I should say. I click the link and I am presented with a DPD website actually showing me where the driver "Tony" is right now in real time, what number delivery he is on currently, and my delivery number and then the estimated time of arrival . I also have had two texts off them.

I have to say that I'm very impressed! :D. They can help you to plan around the delivery time and help themselves to make certain you are home or make other arrangements. All I can say is, well done DPD.

Disclaimer: I don't own shares in DPD, work for, or have ever worked for them etc.

Just thought it was a pretty cool and helpful idea to track a parcel ;)

    Andy :)

They are a lot more customer friendly than most couriers.

Your experiences are obviously better than mine. I have had many things "delivered" by DPD in the past, only one of which has actually turned up. They always claim to have been but no one was in and a card has benn left, but, guess what, someone was in and no card can be found. Things have got so bad now with DPD that I have to look at the map showing where the driver is, which is always about half an hour behind their true position, go down to the gate into the development and stand around waiting.
The only people to deliver consistently and reliably to my address are............ "Royal Mail" who always either deliver the goods, leave a card or leave it with neighbours.

Once you've had an experience with Yodel, anything is better! I have always found DPD to be good and their online tracking is excellent.

Why is it everyone seems to have different opinions on all delivery companies, when ever anyone says this company is good someone else says they had a bad experience with them.
Why can't any of them get it right and shine above all the others.?

    Royal Snail reliably?

To be honest, with all this re-discovering shooting malarkey this last month or so, I have ordered a load of stuff off EBay and Royal Mail have delivered it all with no problems or complaints from me :). Just a year or so ago though they were the pits, big time! They have improved a lot no doubt as they're terrified of losing business to all these new couriers I would guess?

Sorry you haven't had much luck with DPD. I guess everyone has different experiences with all couriers, both good and bad ;)

The last time I was supplied with a tracking number by text through DPD, the text said delivery am.
Nothing turned up so I checked on the website, the message said delivery delayed at customers request.
    Rubbish.

I must be lucky with DPD then as mine turned up this morning bang on the stated time with a friendly smiling delivery driver called Tony lol ;). And the rest of my subject line is also now true to what the forum is really about as my new SCOPE is what DPD delivered all looking shiny, new and un-damaged :D. To say I'm grinning from ear to ear is an understatement :D. Please take a look at a new thread I'm about to start asking how to use it properley  and help out if you can, as there seem to be a multitude of things that can be rotated and fettled with etc that are not on my Hawke HD non AO Scope . Lots of scary looking numbers written on stuff all over it too.....ooer!

    Thanks,

    Andy :)

I've used all sort of different companies for sending and receiving stuff and DPD I've found for me are the best so far. Always on time, tracking is great and the guy is alway a laugh and a smile on his face

I get pretty much everything I order delivered to work these days, and we get a lot of deliveries at work from various suppliers who use various couriers; Royal Mail, Parcel Farce, DPD, TNT, UPS, FedEx, City Link, even some cycle courier bloke. Our workshop has a few flats above it so we take in a lot of their deliveries too while they're out at work and as such most drivers know the address which is half the battle some times.

That said I've taken days off work for deliveries before, only to get a text saying "Your delivery has been rescheduled because you were not in" half an hour after they were due to show up. I was a little bit angry with them on the phone, I can tell you (I think that was DPD, actually!)
