1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    I've found a 6 year Thoeben Rapid 12 Ben Taylored in .25
    (FAC).
It's a bit over my limit financially, but...

    What should I be aware
    of, regarding this gun?
What's the difference between MkI and MkII?
    In the
UK, what would be a fair price?

    Thanks in advance....

Whatever the price I'd haggle it down a bit, FAC stuff is slow to move in the UK and foreign sales are seen as easy money. Ben Taylor is a tuner, does the rifle have a reg fitted?

Thanks for the fast response John.
    Yes its regulated.
It's a danish seller, but these airguns aren't as common in Denmark as in the UK.... Thats why I ask for a UK pricing.
Also because the price asked is a bit over my limit, (wifes limit)... :-(

    It comes with extras.
Two 500cc bottles for the gun, haven't asked yet if there is quickfill. It seems like it, on the 15L divers bottle there is adaptor, gauge and microhose.
    Two barrels, 15" and 24"
2 mags and single feed tray
    FX Handpump

A MKii Rapid is a very fine rifle. Regulated action with large pre chamber (to give the volume for the power - it can be made to go to about 130 ft-lbs in .25 with pinpoint accuracy.)

With the kit attached, 2x bottles etc one of that age would be worth somewhere in the region of £750 to £800. Standard mk 1 rifles with no accessories will easily fetch £450.More modern versions such as the MFR, MkII etc, £650 as is, without the accessories. Forget the FX handpump and sell it for £75, knock that off the price.

The Rapid is a superb rifle, very easy to tune, very easy to take apart and put back together again and is a very safe rifle too for working on. Ben Taylor designed the rifle alongside Dave Theobald (hence the Theoben name THeo from Theobald, BEN from Ben Taylor). The Rapid was the first production multishot pcp, and it was the rifle that made pcp s popular - the likes of the Daystate wolf, ranger very closely resemble the Rapid - which has a monoblock action (what Daystate are championing with the new Wolvering!.....nothing new to Rapid owners)

I would suggest you would be getting a superb rifle - mine is a standard MK1, 1991 so within the first couple of years of production. It is in .20 and will run at 30 ft-lbs with Crossman Premiers, with accuracy to knock over a pellet stood on a fence at 50 yards. Just incredible.

    Thankyou Accuspell
Thats a very fullfilling answer. The gun is a MFR (written on the block) and BTAS written at the side of the stock.
According to seller it should be doing 50 fpe at max. setting.
I think I will go for it.... :D

Keep us posted, but the Rapid is a very under rated rifle. It is "old hat" now because they have been around for 20 odd years, but that is testament to the original design, it was revolutionary 23 years ago! Simple, few seals and with the quick fill just as convenient as anything else.Mine, I have ot unscrew the bottle to fill it each time, but that is only because I can't be bothered to get a quick fill fitted. It only takes a few minutes for heavens sake. People are getting too lazy and too fussy!

Joint the Rapid Owners Forum and you will have all the answers and help you need. Don't leave us on here though!

    :(

No deal was made, he wanted more than I could give. :(

@accuspell, I tried signing up for that forum, but it's closed for signing up right now. But as soon as the admin is back from his surgery... :) Hope it goes well.
I'll have another go at it.

I'll just have to shoot a few extras in my .22 HW100T (FAC)..... :) Love that gun

And you wont get rid of me here...

You can pick up a Rapid very easily and making it go to FAC is also easy and quite cheap. A .22 Rapid will go to 50ft-lbs and still be deadly accurate. Brilliant rifles, but ugly as sin!
