1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

There's a Football thread on the go at the moment so to keep it company I thought there should also be a Rugby Union thread. I see the Premiership starts on Friday which isn’t a day too soon. I’ve missed most of the Summer Internationals as I’m too tight to subscribe to yet another Pay to View provider, BT Sport being enough for me as I only watch rugby. Last season BT showed every game but if I understand the scheduling correctly this is not the case this year just the one match Friday, one Saturday and one Sunday, if your team isn’t featured, tough!
For my sins I follow Worcester, I think it was Covid they have to thank for not getting relegated last season, let’s hope they can do better this year. My grand daughter (and her parents) live in Exeter so when the Warriors are underperforming there's a chance Exeter aren't. What’s your team?

No individual team support just enjoy the matches as they unfold, no premadona’s rolling around, and excellent communication and respect between ref and player.
Good commentary team all bar Austin Healey…..:thumb:

La Rochelle I would hope;). Three French jouers I loved to watch, Serge Bentsen, Sebastian Chabal and Matthieu Bastareaud, maybe not the fastest but get hit by anyone of them you’d know you’d been tackled.

As a proud Welshman it is obviously the Six Nations etc that holds my attention.

Most mainstream, club type rugby does not do a great deal for me - but just not a sports fan type of person.

Dyed in the wool Bath supporter since I was a brat.
I’ve lived in the sticks all my life but Bath is our home town.
I played for Bath colts when I was still at school but then an interest in exploring the cornering limits of motorcycles somewhat impaired the reliability of my fitness level.
It has been an up and down journey over the decades.
They were pretty crap when I was a kid way before the set up that exists now.
The opponents were more often than not Welsh clubs then.
Then the glory years when we were invincible.
Now we are mediocre at best.
    But Leicester are always crap.

@Byronic - Wales have given the world of Rugby Union arguably the best referee there is. I never saw Nigel officiate a league match but put him in the middle of an international you knew the next 80 minutes would have an extra dimension without him detracting from the game.

@Pugwash - Bath Colt, huge respect, I doff my hat in your direction Sir.

Absolutely right. Some of the best games ever.
Bath and Leicester were very often at their best at the same time and I have visited Leicester a few times with my dad when he was still alive and watched some great games there.
You know the insults are very tongue in cheek.

Shocking, I had no idea they had that stunt up their sleeves but then, why am I not surprised. BT Sport used to be free, the £2, now I think it’s £10. I just pay the bill every quarter. I’ll have a smile on my face this time Friday whoever is playing.

It’s been a long time coming but just settling down in front of BT Sport to watch the opening game of the season - Bristol Bears vs Saracens. Happy days.

I was a tolerable fly half at university level, but a bike crash and a plastic kneecap put paid to that.

We can hear the roars from Kingsholm from our garden (just). When Gloucester hosted some World Cup matches it was amazing!

Old customer of mine had a box and I used to get invited regularly. Some great times.

I played infront of the shed many moons ago. Honestly one of the most intimidating 80mins for my life!
