1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Agreed...

I just see one :handjob: putting on his parts because he can't be arsed to do the extra work required to keep his dad free from harm.
How the hell he can sit there taking up a valuable bed when there is naff almost wrong with him and demand testing whilst frontline staff are still struggling to get tested is beyond me:down:.

I hope the d******d got slung out on street in his backless gown.

The title of this pointless thread, coupled with the bias and one sided 5 minute video clip you posted, has clearly slated our NHS and created unnecessary fearmongering amongst our already frightened community.

If you had half an ounce of common sense, you'd read the responses to what you posted and see how the entirety of this forum not only completely disagrees with you, but how disgusted they are in what you posted.

I have read several topics and threads now where you have "contributed" and honestly, your attitude is one of lighting unnecessary fires, before sitting back and poking them to create as much of a response as possible.

I genuinely feel sorry for you if this is what you have to do to gain self gratification. I only hope that your membership here, like an overstretched elastic band, reaches its tensile breaking point very soon so nobody else has to be upset or offended by your pointless trolling.

Well now as a 79 year old i dont expect to much from our excellent health service. I think people of my age will be left at home to do the best they can. These are extraordinary times and treatment must go to the ones with the best chance of surviving this. However it seems to me that the guy in the video who was only trying to protect his old dad by asking for a test was physically manhandled out of bed and thrown out. Hardly what we expect.

The slating of the NHS / its staff is somewhat implicit in the comment "glad i am over here if this is going on in the UK Just Lost for Words really" in your orignal post, was it not?

While the guy apparently had a point, unfortunately for him it appears that prevailing conditions (i.e. a lack of testing kits and need for beds, presumably) meant that his demands were being prioritised behind those in greater need than him. Not ideal, but sadly that's the way it is. On top of that his attitude was hardly conducive to getting what he wanted...

Fair enough - thanks for clarifying it. I have no desire to remove the thread, but you can if you feel it necessary (or I can do it for you if you'd prefer).

I noticed that the WHO's list of top healthcare providing nations fails to identify one specific detail...……..

The healthcare in the UK is free and funded by the people, for the people. Regardless of class, money, colour, religion or creed, everyone is entitled to the same standard of healthcare from point of entry to discharge.

The other countries are all adoptees of insurance based healthcare, which are neither free from initial contact nor regulated via compliance the way the NHS is.

I have worked in both the NHS (for more years than I care to remember, and yes, I am biased) and private healthcare, and the basic care you get is the same. All private care gets you is a colour telly and a drinks cupboard.

I wonder how many people who slag the NHS off would clean someone's blood, snot and Censored up with a smile on their face????? How many have been in tears when their patients die????

I could go on and on, but I won't.

The NHS has always been the envy of Europe, and long may it continue.

You are misguided if you believe The NHS is free, it is not, unless you are a foreign National without insurance, then it is free, but we the British tax payer pay for them as well.

I honestly believe many people have a huge blind spot where the NHS is concerned. To deify it as some sort of untouchable .-like institution to the point of excluding all criticism is foolish.
Any institution which is happy to pay top dollar on things which normally cost pennies is at best badly run, at worst corrupt. I urge anyone who is in hospital during the summer months to touch a radiator. You'll find the heating is on. The windows will be open. How much ££ is floating out the window right there?
The wastefulness is criminal and expensive.

The NHS costs YOU £5,000 a year – and the burden on taxpayers is only going to rise
TAXPAYERS are coughing up nearly £5,000 a year each for the NHS it was revealed today, as experts warned the astronomical cost of the service is only going to rise.

I'm not sue of the point you are trying to make. If you have an income you pay tax. Some of this goes to pay the NHS. If you have no income you will still be treated by the NHS and they still won't charge you anything. Would you you prefer this was not the case? In which case, how do you think it should work. Or do you think that the NHS should somehow work without costing anyone anything?
