1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Saw guys in the field with torches...? Surely first port of call would be to the land owner then to see if any one has permission to be shooting on his land and if they were there the night in question...If he was on the road and the pellet went that deep into his back surely that is not a legal 12ftp rifle is it...? Why would they of been shooting that close to a road in the direction of the road if hunting...? Could this also not be a cover up of someone who was perhaps poaching and was accidentally shot with a pellet while trespassing...? Could he of not also been messing around with mates who had guns and just doing dumb teenage stuff as he was only 18 and used this story as a cover up to not get any of his mates into trouble...? Loads of different reasons to why this guy ended up with a pellet in his back that deep...Must of been a point blank shot mustn't it as he would of had a t shirt, maybe a jumper and perhaps even a coat on or even leathers as it states a 'motorcyclist'...? Would take some serious muzzle energy to get through that lot and possibly been 20-30m+ away from the shooter(s)...

Seems strange how someone who cant walk and has such apparent severe spinal damage is

    a.Allowed out of hospital
b.Going to the doctors everyday to have the dressings changed.

Surely if it was that severe he would be imobilised and not taking a trip to the doctors everyday to change a bandage?

    Nail, on head.

No-one with a suspected long term spinal injury is sent home to walk around? Nah.

Going to hospital everyday to have what is essentially an oversized plaster changed? Nah.

Now i know where my £200 a month in national insurance is going....

Some very odd about that story.

Cannot make a claim till they get the shooter unless he KNOWS the shooter. It doesn't sound right to me either I just found the article.

You also have to be a pretty good shot to hit a moving bicycle first time with an air rifle!

The police should have inspected his clothing he was wearing at the time of the "Shooting" to find the pellet entry point in the back of his jacket.

What needs to happen is a reconstruction and use a sub 12 gun and a fac shooting a dummy at the same distance and see what will happen. I think the boy is telling porky pies

I agree with the majority here, there's no way a sub12 would have gone through "motorcyclist" clothing. I have a friend who shot another friend, long time ago posts still on here about it if you want to search it out, who was 60-70ish yards away. The shot took a richocet off a stone and hit him in the back, he was wearing just a t shirt and it didn't go through the shirt nor the skin. It left a paintball like bruise for a week or so.

I think that this kid was up to no good and has just used this cock n bull story to either cover up what he was really up to or covering for a mate who maybe pinched his dads air rifle while he was on holiday or something and accidentally shot this other kid...Only thing that could really make sense...

deffo a rabbit off here. first thing i thought was clothing, either leather or the kevlar type motorcycle jackets would withstand alot more than 12ft/lb even at close range.

an inch away from the spine? trouble walking? all sounds like utter b****x.

they take spinal injuries very seriously and the dressing changes, just beyond me. i ruptured three discs in feb was off work 3 weeks and im getting my mri in a fortnight. i want to be part of little bentlys nhs.

defnitely agree this is very odd could be understandable if shot very close but motorcycle jackets are usually pretty thick i own a few, and i doubt a 12flbs rifle would peirce a jacket and then continue another inch into flesh
