1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

For those that buy air guns and do a little collecting.
is their one rifle if you were able to buy it that would stop you buying another ever.
Is their such a rifle ,what is it if so.
Or is it about I want them all.;)

My Theoben SLR is all the rifle I would ever need, but the Rapid .20 is phenomenal and if air were ever to become a problem then the SLR is what I would fall back on. Fast follow up shots, not quite as fast as a bolt action, but fast enough. Probably one of the best built air rifles ever, the quality and design was not constrained by accountants, it was an engineer's rifle, which is why they were over £750, which for a non PCP is quite a wallet stretching exercise, but anyone who has one says they worth it. You can get a very good one now for £550, but that wouldn't be enough to prise mine away. When you get a good rifle, hang on to it.

I think I have purchased it, 'HW100' carbine in .177. I really cant see anything coming along that will make me say, . that can do a better job than what I have. I could give up any of my guns on request, but the 'HW100' having to go, would bring tears. KB1

I'm looking forward to the new E Wolverine from Daystate, but it will depend how it looks if I'm to buy one. I enjoy chopping and changing a bit to be honest, it keeps things interesting and let's me get better opinionated by actually owning the gun rather than just having read about it.

What happens to me is ...theres a rifle I think is the one .I buy it .I change it around scope mod pellets etc then when I get it shooting spot on and im confident shooting quarry out to 50+yards and there going over like lead balloons then after a while im bored and the urge starts all over again

I think it depends on personality etc , I got caught up buying the next best rifle for quite a while , always wanting a better one , now I've calmed down I can't even remember what 'better' meant , I can shoot just as well with my tx as I can with my hw100 . Marketing probably has a lot to do with it , as do forums like this , creating an image and desire around a particular rifle . Funny thing is the targets seem to go down just the same with a £200 rifle as a £2000 rifle so long as you hit it . Doesn't stop me coveting the new S500 ultimate though

Have a thing for old Daystates have the following and would not part with them:-

Huntsman MkI .22 bought as a scrapper really, wouldn't cock, leaked like a sieve, rusty and stock lumpy bumpy and rough. After much work now perfect and the stock turned out to be great Tiger stripe. This was sold by Daystate as action only, stock maker unknown.

Huntsman MkII .177 FTR stock 11.6 ftlbs on JSB Exact 8.44gr

Harrier SE .20 silver finish with matching Swift Stumpy silencer 11.7 on H&N 11.42gr
