1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Seen a few mixed reviews, so would like peoples opinions on this as a cheap PCP for sub 30M pest control.

Been looking at either this or good Weihrauch gas-ram?

And for some reason I really like the look of the Webley Spectre... (although basically same as Hatsan I think?)#

    Thanks!

    :)

With a gas ram you will never run out of air as long as the ram holds.

With an AT44 you will have to recharge the gun every 50 shots!

    Your call!

I think the decision was made today, the Weihrauch was too heavy for the other half to use easily, so will look at a PCP...might still get the HW as a 'spare' ;)

If weight is an issue the Weihrauch gas-ram is 4kg, but the Hatsan AT44 isn't far behind at 3.3Kg.

Perhaps increase the budget and go for a Brocock contour xl s6 at 1.75Kg

The AT-44 is a good gun. Magazine fed side lever 10 shot usually (there are single shot ones out there), slightly annoying auto safety and the Quattro trigger (a development of the Webley Omega trigger I believe). Accurate and not to loud, though there is a hell of a cloink from the hammer. They are also screw cut so a silencer can be fitted as and when funds allow.

Wholesaler back up is good, so any problems and the RFD starts playing up you can ring Edgar Brothers directly and have a word. That gets the problem fixed. I speak from personal experience.

They come with 2 magazines with a wooden stock or 3 with a synthetic (do not ask me why, I do not know).

Would I have one? Sure I would? Have I got one? Course I have. When the weather is bad and I do not want to take the Rapid out, it is the gun I will take.

    Great guns
was shooting mine yesterday very good accuracy lots of shot - I regulated mine and get 100
i would think easier to get an accurate shot than with a ram / springer - well for me at least

I removed the safety on mine and the AT

    cheers

i have an at44-10 was shooting it yesterday along side my logun s16 at halifax range and was getting 1/2 inch groups at 35 meters with both guns. i have the synthetic stock version and really enjoy shooting this gun i get around 80 shots from mine between charges but i tend to air on the cautious side of things as far as shooting on low pressure. my guns shoots at 11.6lb with air arms diablo pellets and its accuracy is really tight to i bought mine as a package with scope and silencer included although i tried a Weihrauch silencer and that turned both guns whisper quiet i was really impressed with the feel but also tried a twink silencer off the robbin which really looked good on the logun and was very quiet too thanks again fella. i think for the money the hatsan offer value for money and very accurate too.

had an at44-10 few years back in fact had a couple , graunchy loading like grit , compared to the hw100 hmmm don't think I would have either , if weights an issue get an s200 super accurate or go full belt get a hw100 . I wouldn't have a gas ram at all , the contour soon as you reach sweet spot it falls off . had one , for two weeks hated it . hmmm

The AT-44 (either single or multi shot) is an honest rifle for it's price.
It is a direct derivative from the old Webley FX2000 / Acxors with a few modernizations.
Not top quality build, however it holds together well and generally has no reliability issues.
If the budget is tight, it presents a decent option.

There was me thinking it was a copy of the Evanix Blizzard that Webley used to sell as the Raider...

A copy indeed, but the Raider is a direct derivative of the older swedish Webleys.

Anyone any thoughts about how this compares to the slightly more expensive Rotex R8/RM8? The main thing that put me off the AT-44 was the prospect of recharging after 40 or so shots. This made me think the RM8 might be better value for money.

i bought an at-44.10 about 2 months ago, says 200 bar max but goes up to 250 and can get 50 shots before its back in the green, then can get another 60-70 after that, (still full power) my first pcp and only ever had sprigners, bsa, Weihrauch, webley and smk, this thing wipes the floor with them, is this normal because it says i should only be getting 50-60 shots full power and should be pressure valve?

You should get 50-60 shots only filling to 200 bar and shooting down to the other end of the green section on the gauge.

been out tonight, put it to 230 bar, first few shots go anywhere, then i can hit things at around 60m almost pellet on pellet. when i bought it ,he said thers a pressure relief that stops it going over 200, im convinced this is over power but if i get it chrono'd will they reduce the power, or have they got to? id love to know the power on this. having the time of my life with this thing

Do not over fill it, go to 200 bar max.
If you cannot afford a chrono download one of the phone apps, they should give you a slightly more accurate idea of what power your gun is. Just be very careful and measure distance from muzzle to target precisely.

You must get this checked sooner rather than later ~ I would rather have the 'time of my life', in the safe knowledge that I'm acting within the law.
