1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

Popped out to the farm tonight to collect some money for the pump that Egg is selling. While I was there Martin (the land owner) got his BSA Ultra out to show me and to check he had everything he needed. Sat there drinking a coffee when I noticed a grey blob on the ridge of the barn roof 40 odd yards away. Had a peek through his scope and it was a bloody squirrel. Obviously the conversation turned to how it's sods law that something like that appears when you don't have your rifle with you, when Martin said, "use mine, it's got air in it".

He then proceeded to get out a tin of Nickerson Magnum Dome pellets.:eek::eek:

Anyway, loaded the rifle, took aim just above the greys head and squeezed the trigger, (for ages and ages cause it seriously needs adjusting). Smack. Right between the eyes. I don't know who was more shocked, the squirrel for getting shot or me that the pellet went where I aimed.

Carried on drinking the coffee when I saw more movement on the same roof. Under one of the loose slabs at the side of the roof there was a nest with 3 young greys poking their heads out looking for mummy. Reloaded another 3 times and took another 3 clean head shots.:confused::confused:

One dropped back into the nest but the others rolled cleanly off the roof to be picked up.

Goes to show how different pellets work in different guns though. Through my rifles, pellets of that quality fly everywhere.
