  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Hi guys.

I’m James, one of the guys at Spartan Precision Equipment and we have been chatting to Andy Beckett from this forum regarding our Javelin bipods (See his ”The only bipod you’ll ever need” thread)

Originally we produced our bipods for the hunting market where they continue to see great success, having sold well over 20,000 units now. Growth recently has been nearly exponential and we are now seeing good market prenetration into the military and black gun markets with a significant number of Tier 1 special forces units now utilising our bipods, both for their lack of weight and demonstrated strength.

Mike Morton, editor of Airgun Shooter magazine, came to see us a while back and opened our eyes to the air gun market, which frankly we hadn’t really considered previously. Discussions with people like Andy have reinforced our interest in the market, particularly given the fact that some of your air guns are more expensive than hunting rifles!

Anyway to the point of my post...

I am looking at putting together a group buy for users of this forum only. Discount would be dependent on the number of people interested in the offer.

    1 - 10 people... 15% discount
    11 - 20 people.. 20% discount
    21+ people... 25% discount

This would apply to Javelins, “300” bipods, all adapters and leg extensions if required. We have production prototypes out for Anschutz/UIT and Freeland rails which are not currently shown on the website but are likely to be available within a month or so. We are also looking at developing a mount to fit to air tanks for the Javelin.

If you could register your interest in this thread it allows me to track it easily. A discount t code will be sent to members via PM once I’ve gauged the interest levels.

Hope this is okay and doesn’t break any forum rules. We don’t generally offer discounts so this is a special offer for forum members only.

Full product details are available on www.javelinbipod.com

i for one could be interested but a 6-9" bipod in a hunting rifle is not enough height adjustment for me.

Have a look on the website. The long version gives 8”-12” adjustment. We also offer 20, 30, 40 and 50cm leg extensions so believe me it is more than capable as a hunting bipod...

That's a lovely offer... but I can't justify the cost even with the discount. Thanks anyway.

Beautiful looking and well presented shooting accessories... I wish you every success.

I would be interested in a different leg length and possibly a different adaptor/socket.

And may I say, what a truly generous, unique offer this is. Thank you so very much!

A generous offer from a company that has no need to tout for business so let's not be rude by saying why you don't want one. These are a 'luxury' item by most of our standards and will be out of our financial reach.

Perhaps it's best if only those who are interested contribute to this thread.

Would this included just an adapter on it's own?
I have a Javelin already, but the original adapters aren't the most ergonomic of things and was looking to buy another universal adapter for it.

Maybe proactive 'negative' feedback is a good thing... After all the company owners are wanting or at least curious to break into the airgun market which is a little more competitive I feel....but quite a lucrative one if the balance of price to quality is right... Just look at Hawke.. ;)

Nice offer, thank you very much, slightly out of my price range for a bipod, but I can see that this really is a high quality product. May I wish you well in the airgun market.

Hi Buffy - I opted for the long version as I prefer a 9-13 bipod and have to say it's fine. I also bought the 30cm extension legs, which if I am honest are way too long for prone, but good for sitting - although I tend to use the primos sticks....but the Javelin is obviously a lot lighter.

What is nice is you can take both sets of legs with you as they are easy to swap in the field and the weight is negligible.

In terms of the cost v other bipods.....it depends if you need bipods on all your rifles at the same time. If you don't, then an adapter kit (without discount) is a lot cheaper than Harris, deben etc and about the same price as an atlas clone. With middle discount it makes it £34 per rifle....a cheap, viable option in my book.

This is a really good deal - after talking with spartan they gave me 10% on my first order, although it was a good sized order), so getting 15% from the off is a really nice gesture.

@spartanjim - I will definitely be up for one adapter, maybe two.....I am trying to keep off the website as the accessories bag is also calling my name...!

    Thanks
    Tim B

Just to add the boxes the stuff comes in is really good quality and can be utilised for other stuff I.e. Magazines, probes etc.

    Ditto that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Id like it to fit a HW100SK, without having to drill the stock. Andy made a after market part.
But at these prices, i feel i shouldnt have to buy after market parts.
Im interest though. Just giving you my veiws. :thumb:

Just do it :D it’s a 50p bit if delrin which posh people call an adapter :).

I wouldn’t expect a company to have all sizes of screws to fit all stocks and Andy’s is a ready made solution (and a bloody neat and simple one too)

You know it make sense :)
    Thanks

@spartanjim - you probably need to show a list of who’s having what so people can keep track of what % discount it stands at.....

    Thanks
