1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Just had an email back from Pellpax, as follows:
“Apologies for these errors, we will get you into the routes for this coming weekend for a collect and exchange of the pistol so we will bring you a new one this weekend.

We will be in touch on Wednesday with a delivery day and time same as before to arrange this exchange.”

Seems plausible so I’m happy with the process apart from having to wait till the weekend for them to even deliver it. I do actually need the pistol for rat shooting, and I’ve already had to leave it at home Sunday because of the sights. So all in all, it’ll be just under two weeks from ordering before I could possibly use the gun  I’ve asked for the return to be prioritised, but I’m not sure if they’ll honour that?! Thank you everyone for all they help you’ve given me. More updates to come.

Sounds about right. Well at least you had a reply. At least they are getting a replacement to you and for that you should be grateful. ;) I had to wait about 6 weeks for mine to arrive when they told me it would be the coming weekend.

hope it all sorts itself out in the end.

Reply seems reasonable enough - but I think I'd be asking for this to be unpacked and thoroughly inspected before it was put on the van this time!

With any common sense they should be doing this anyway. Surely they must have some sort of quality control?

that's reasonable customer service, no quibbles or extra cost and with the delivery and collection it tops most of what we buy off the web and you don't have the bother of trying to return it via post which isn't always straightforward.

doubt you'll have to worry about the replacement being good enough, if they're really on the ball they'll chuck a little freebie or two in there

I have CP1m in .177 and .22 . Bought a CP1 in .25 a couple of weeks ago because it was cheap. ( mint, boxed and £75 from a dealer, Tonys Camo in chester) I don't rate the .177 for close range ratting. If you fluff a shot it goes right through them and they get away. .22 is much better with a seemingly better stopping effect but first impressions are that the .25 anchors them as if nailed to the floor. all shots are indoors and ranges usually less than 15 feet. I usually carry a small BB pistol in my pocket for quick dispatch if any of the CPs or me don't get it right first time. Not needed it yet with the .25. Expensive to run but very effective

I have a handful of bb air pistols but I never thought they were up to the job even by rats standards. What do you use?

Something small that fits in a pocket, usually a TT33 or a PPK/S. But remember, I only use them for finishing off a wounded rat from ranges usually no more than a foot. I don't consider any BB gun to be a suitable tool for general use on anything bigger than a wasp. A couple of foot pounds will certainly kill a mouse but you have to hit it right and that can't be guaranteed . The CP models are slower for repeat shots so I use the quicker BB models.

I have a nice Umarex Desert Eagle which I’ve just got working again. It was powerful enough to kill pigeons that crossed my path back in the day, I might give it a go until my CP-1 M gets sorted, because where I go ratting they get too close for comfort. Accidentally stepped on two yesterday and had one jump up to my thigh. Most of them were too close for my scope. I even bent one like Beckham after it kept running at me

Hi guys my replacement gun arrived just now. Seems like I’m just going to have to accept the quality of these CP-1s is just hit or miss or just straight out poor?! I don’t want to speak for everyone but the two that I’ve had in my hands all have their own problems as if they’re not made the same. 0B54735B-5BE9-45BD-9EF7-9D66E66F7DEE.jpeg 15A99B15-8F2C-400E-BFD9-F3FCBF646BE3.jpeg
As you can see the gun sits to one side in the stock and the bolt only just clears the wood.
8268D97E-1C33-4130-99C3-5F8F017D61DE.jpeg Here it looks like they’ve drilled and tapped the hole for the bolt too far back and instead of making a new one they’ve just drilled the correct hole forward a bit. But the old hole is still visible (excuse the poor lighting in the photo but do believe me when I say it’s visible).
The surface finish on the bolt is almost completely different to the last one.
Again I’m wondering if these problems are persistent on all their guns or if PellPax are just sending me/getting their hands on ones from SMK’s scrap bin?

I would also like to add after shooting a few magazines yesterday afternoon I thought every now and then the gun was shooting completely off as I couldn’t even hear a pellet hit my target. After close inspection the reason why it didn’t hit the target is because the pellet just falls out the barrel after loading!!! I have a video of the gun doing this I just don’t know how to post it on here. I just called Pellpax and they say they’re going to collect this one on the weekend. I think I’m done with the CP-1 pistols and just want my money back now.
It’s annoying as I had high expectations for this gun and I would love to have one that works, a new one will almost certainly carry its own problems. But two weeks on from initially ordering I still can’t take it ratting and so I am requesting them to give me a full refund due to the poor quality of these pistols rendering the virtually useless.

Sorry to hear you have had such a bad experience with the CP1 as they are fantastic little pistols really. Did you try it without the mag to see if you had the same problem?
Might you just save up the extra for a PP700 now? ;)

I was even considering the pp800 but it’s the same platform. PellPax have stopped replying to my emails now. All I want is my money back lol. I’m tempted to drive all the way up to the shop and chuck it at someone.:mad::frusty:

I was seriously considering placing an order with either Pellpax or Sportsguns, but I'm not really into someone leaving a Co2 cannister in a Pistol or Rifle for however long in transport.

Furthermore, as far as I'm concerned, as soon as product has been opened & used it's then 2nd hand and should be sold as such.

Did you use a credit card to purchase this or PayPal?

If you used a credit card, please initiate a section 75 with your credit provider & you'll get refunded in full.

If you paid via PayPal, open a dispute for "not as described" - then the seller will be forced to accept a return & refund.

If you paid via debit card, I believe a chargeback can be pursued.

    Here's some info' on the S75 I mentioned - https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-ri...e-consumer-credit-act#payments-through-paypal

    I have 3 of these.
    One in each calibre.
They are all SMK with their chequered stocks.
    Ie not other imports.
    They are all fine.

They each have the second hole in the bolt which I'd guess is involved in the cocking action or as a stop.
