1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I recently bought a "as new" whisper 180 with the AA adapter fitted for the s410.When it arrived the "as new" description wasn't quite accurate. The adapter would not tighten up to the body leaving a small gap because the threads had bottomed out,not only that when I fitted it to the gun it was off set, checking it out showed that the adapter had been drilled out and the internal diameter was too big.I could send off for a new adapter, but on stripping the mod down and removing the internals found that the cones from the 180 will fit into the AA mod.The thing is only two will fit because of their length, however I can trim one of the AA spring and scouring pads down to fill the space left.My question is,before I butcher the AA internals would two 180 cones and the AA internal work together,if so which way would be best to fit them,I.E. cone first then AA then another cone or two cones in first then AA baffle then AA internal.I have no idea how the air flow works in a mod to dissipate the rapport of the gun,and fancied making a hybrid of the two to see if I could get the best out of them.If it's all boll*x then nothing lost,I will get a new adapter for the 180.The price you pay for buying off a lesser site than this one,and cleverly angled advert photos that don't show the item in it's true light.

Pic to show comparison of the two...no the wife doesn't know she is two scouring pads down.
    Cheers lads.

Hi mate, it's worth looking at 'Gunvidder' videos on Youtube, he strips silencers and rearranges the internalsto get the best results he can. There's a fair bit to it, I tried modifying my AA standard one last year after it started clipping, but ended up with all the same AA internals except I substituted the initial scouring material (which was not wide enough and left a gap) with the green ones like you show. Cut them accurately for a snug fit and you'll get an improvement.

There's plenty of silencer videos on Youtube.....

I put 4 chambers in my mates aa silencer. I used narrow hair curlers from boots, only 8mm diameter and wrapped them in copper pipe lagging.

    Big improvment:)

What size washers did you use for the baffles? By that I mean what was the internal hole diameter.

If I can mind, the through hole was 6.5 mm and made out of stiff card which was easy to cut.

    And the curlers.

hi andy, we have the whisper 130, and am well impressed with it. it has 2 cones, as opposed to 3 on the 180. we made a mod to it - used hair curlers, felt stuff and spacers instead of the cones, and its better. if you want some spacers making and some baffle materiel, let me know and i'll make some for you - the curlers were bought from a pound shop.

andy, just had a rummage around our gear, and have come up with a spare aa s400/410 slip on adaptor for the whisper - yours if you want it mate. you can then put the whisper back how it should be, and then have a tinker with the aa one (possibly with the baffles/spacers and hair curler type set up ?)

I've got a twink on my S200,to me they are in a different league to any others I have had, including the excellent HW one, which to me seems to be the industry standard that the others have to ascribe to.I am talking commercially available mods here of a realistic cost, not some £150 super military spec thing.I sent the barrel and the twink to have them "mated" together by screw cutting,as the S200 is an adapter fitting only. Not only sounds good,it looks better as well and has shortened the overall length of the set up.Only down side is you can't get into them to have a mooch.
Thanks for all the replies lads, will check youtube when I have an hour spare,as I always get sidetracked to the botfly and zit squeezing vids.As usual help and advice is always forthcoming, great forum for newbies and oldies alike.

I was also impressed with the Twink, I also have a Hogan Decimeter which is very good as is the Hugget. Not forgetting our very own Matt's MWSS being very good too.

You are right Gary, matt made me a custom job for a cometta 300.Superb quality, hard to tell on a springer though how effective it was, especially on a cometta,if you missed, the noise of the spring stunned the prey to such an extent you got a second chance.
