1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  6. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Hi guys I have a question, a lot of people seem to want a Leshiy 2 and are even prepared to wait for months and pay out £2,000.00+ in advance for one, so I'm curious what's the real attraction for you, bearing in mind there are so many awesome airguns already available.
Don't get me wrong I would love to try one myself and probably will when and if they become more readily available, for me the only thing I would like is being able to keep the crosshairs on the target whilst a quick follow up shot is taken if needed thats it, but I have a vulcan2 so this isn't essential as they are so accurate but who knows a gust of wind etc its possible, but everyones got different reasons for spending that sort of money so what's yours.

I could never dream of paying that much for a gun myself and I am more than happy with the guns that I do have, but, there are always people who dream and strive for perfection. Fair play to them I say and maybe we shouldn't question Why, but instead, Why Not?
Why do people put their names down for a Morgan or Aston Martin. Because they want something of quality that is unique and that has been lovingly crafted.

To me it's still a sub 12 air rifle with an effective pesting range of 50 yards max. Or a plinking gun for anything over that.
Would I pay that for a rifle? No, I don't think I've even paid that for a car.
Pellets will still get blown around and you'll still miss.
Put it another way, with our power limits it's like buying a Bugatti Veyron but limited to 60mph.

I personally think that it is as of a fad wanting to try the quick fire thing as going for accuracy. I have heard a few people say that they have moved on so the next thing to try. I is rather a lot to pay for a pistol shaped gun rather than a bullpup or conventional type of rifle, I think I would spend it on an AGR Uragan or a Vixen. But that is just my view I will probably get shot to high heaven for mincing with the leshiy2 crowd.
pistols at dawn I loose that as I only have a pp700 pistol. Bye Graham.

If someone , is left some money , they may want something that bit special .
Another reason , people may have a collection , and they want to get rid of the lot for one .
People may have saved up , for a long time for something they really like /want .

Some may have a great job , and it's a case I can afford it .why not .

    Personally I have no want.

The H5A was a hoot, the Leshiy (two of them) was amazing. Not sure I want a hybrid - well not that much anyway. Seems to me that the L2 loses most of what made the L1 so astonishing. All the simplicity is gone.

Perhaps I will find a spot of ‘rich and bored’ at some point.

Simple answer ? Because you can.

you dont "need" a redwolf, steyr FWB, or anything else costing more than maybe 800 quid, but people still own them. Same for scopes- something that works well enough can cost you a couple hundred or less, while some will spend 1000s on them, because they like them.
Similarly, some people have 1 gun, others have more than 1, because its what they want.
You dont need a Vulcan 2, and a lot of people would see it as an expensive gun beyond them, but doesnt stop them wanting one at some point.

This is a hobby, so its a want and not a need. You put as much money into it as you can afford, and get the satisfaction from what you make of it. I'm as happy shooting the Ataman, or Uragan as the lee enfield or a 99. I've had an H5, tried a Steyr Pro, along with a lot of other high end guns, and they all have something to offer.

There’s nothing else quite like the Leshiy2 and in relative terms they are few and far between so an opportunity to try before you buy is pretty much non existent for most folk .

so your options are dig deep and try one , wait for right time and place or perhaps always wonder .

When my fully tricked up Pro Target used to miss the 60 yard bell target I'd get really annoyed.

When my bishy Aselkon actually hits that bell I'm over the moon!

It really wouldn't do if we all chose the same things in life, I myself want the best that I can afford, but I don't begrudge anyone who can afford better, good luck to anyone who buys what he wants and can afford it without other people suffering, ie family etc, it's life.

Women cost a lot more, come less reliable and any warranty, stated or implied, becomes null and void once wrapping has been removed.

Its irrelevant how much the rifle costs because if someone really wants one they will in the end have one.

Its expensive for sure but like anything in life a rifle is only ever worth what somebody is prepared to pay for it.

That said they are bloody expensive

Now there’s a question with a multitude of potential answers

I’ve actually got one on order from Spain…I’ve received a third of it so far and whether I get the remaining ‘bits’ is anyones guess. I ordered one because after reading up lots about it, it’s very different from any other air rifle I have and I’ve worked hard all my life, kids are grown up and I’m fortunate that I can afford one.

My other hobby is clay pigeon shooting, and compared to air guns that’s eyewateringly expensive. A decent competition gun will start at £2k but people spend MUCH more, and let’s face it…it’s 2 tubes and 2 pieces of wood…nothing like the complexity of a modern PCP like FX, Leshiy or Styer etc. Then you add cartridges at £200/1000 for a basic shell, and £35/£40 entry for a 100 bird registered shoot every Sunday….all that’s before you get into Pilla Shooting glasses at £500 a set and £100 an hour for a decent coach and £70 a year for CPSA membership to register your scores.

It’s the same with cars, watches, hi-fit’s, road bikes etc etc…the list goes on. I don’t drive a fancy car, or have designer watches…quite happy with my Fiesta and my old Wallace and Gromit watch…but that’s just me:)

The one thing I do know is that unlesss it’s an out and out work tool then generally you shoot better and enjoy it more when you shoot something that puts a smile on your face and feel pride in ownership.

I am aware I’ve been lucky in life, always had a job (so far) and do appreciate what I have and am able to do. It’s one of the few advantages of being in your 50’s I guess.

they are pipping the riss out of us with todays prices, but like the wife said earlier in the year ....if you really want that redwolf then get it you've worked hard enough for it all your life, from the first time i saw the redwolf i fell in love with it, but it was 2 years in production by then, anyway it took me about 4 months to talk myself into paying that sort of cash for an air rifle (thanks pension fund).
