1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Whilst I agree this is accurate, I can do that with my TTR, my Pulsar, the HW100 btas I just sold.

What I meant was figures, fps, a grouping on a target, max and min velocity spread, what the reg spike is at reg pressure, i.e the work that Andy has done that sets it apart from a standard hw100 or any of the other hw100 tunes.

I'm not meaning to sound like a killjoy, but the devil is in the detail. There are many that 'tune' the hw100 these days, I was just interested to know/see what set this one apart if you see what I mean?

I don't know the exact details, but when Andy @Blackmax tuned my KT he did all what you mentioned - gave the internals a going over and probably spent more time setting it up than doing the work. When finished it was 157 shots with minimal off reg spike.

I now get less than that as a I chose the same route as Mikey (at the time) and it was doing about 8fps spread. I haven't done a shot count yet, you've just reminded me I need to do one. :D

I’ll need to work out how to get the Caldwell appt results on here, I can work out how to screen shoot it but the results are on several pages.

Anyway, here’s what mine is doing...

    Using JSB Exacts .20

56 shot string starting at 200 bar

    Highest FPS 614
    Lowest FPS 607
    Averages FPS 611
    Extreme Spread 7

Filled back up to 200 bar

190 shots fired to 90 bar

Then shot down to 80 bar with no off reg spike at all and throughout the entire fill there was no change of POI at 30 yards.

I’ll be repeating this test again in the next week or so and, and as said - if anyone wants it for the day feel free :)

What sets it apart, I think, is that Blackmax has the experience to balance it better than most.
Unless the hammer spring is different to the one you can get from hw100 tuning.

I've done all the work on mine and 17fpe extreme spread is the best I can do. Incidentally this took me the best part of the day messing around

To get an extreme spread of less than 10 FPS is pretty special in my opinion.

To be fair you won't notice anything less than 20 fps poi wise on a target. Tony independently tested my old HW to between 5-7 on my own set up (with Steve's kit) and TTR is less.
It can be done, just have to know what you are doing ;)

Glad you are pleased with you. 20 set up, looking forward to see your ventures with it

Glad you saved me the ball ache Rhys, I think my head would have popped if it were left to me to tweak and balance the reg and hammer pressure

I can indeed confirm a very low spread and that was across the entire shot count, its more like 3 to 5 fps spread on say a 14 to 28 shot test

I've heard a number of people criticise the standard HW100 shot count. Just this weekend at Pete's one of the chaps commented on the relatively low shot count in comparison with other rifles. He was suprised at the 120 shot count on my KT but still found it low (really? almost double that of the standard unfettIed KT?!) I commented that it had a higher shot count than many for the same sized cylinder and that the 'perceived' low shot count was due in part to the relatively short cylinder.

'Why does your Wildcat have around double the shot count then?' he asked eyebrows raised. 'Because the cylinder on the Wildcat is about twice as big' I replied!

Well having owned a HW100T for only 6 weeks and finally getting a half decent scope iam getting 9 mags roughly 130 shots and still haven't seen it drop off , I find this gun a pleasure to fire it's extremely accurate and to read this thread to find you can tune these guns to make them fire better is amazing just shows how good these guns are
