  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  6. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Not a gun review no, but a review of the process of ordering (and receiving) a CS stock.
Might be useful to someone thinking about getting a new stock.

In case you do not know, CS Stocks are a gun stock manufacturer / supplier.
    Website here: https://www.customstock.co.uk/

So I wanted a new stock for my trusty old HW97, which had the plain old black synthetic stock. I decided to treat myself to a custom stock, not a standard Weihrauch stock.

I browsed the various websites, there are a few out there, CS (obvs) plus Gary Cane, Protek, Staffs Custom Rifles, etc. Eventually I settled on a CS stock as to me they offered something a little different to a "standard" stock, in a nice wood (American Walnut), for a reasonable price.

Once on the CS website, there are various options to choose from, stock type, 500, 700, 800, etc as well as "extras", eg: LHS comb or RHS, cappings, adjustable butt pads, thumbhole or not, solid stock or skeleton, etc.

After much deliberation, I eventually settled on a CS700, thumbhole, skeleton, stock, with Rosewood cappings and an adjustable butt pad. The website has loads of photos of the various stocks and the various options, so you can see what you are ordering. Its all very nicely laid out and easy to use.

On the actual ordering page you need to add all the usual details, name, address, payment method, etc and you need to also confirm which gun its for, whether you are RH or LH shooter, plus confirm any extras, etc, a nice easy process, just take your time and double check before hitting the "pay" button.

Once ordered you get a confirmation email, (looks to be automated). Then I also get another email, (from one of the owners / staff) a few days later just confirming they had my order and would get it out to me asap.

Then a couple of days ago I got another email (or may have been a text, can't remember!) stating my order was complete and it was being sent out. I think I also got a text from their courier (FedEx) and once you have the confirmation from the courier you can track the delivery. I had no probs with FedEx they delivered the stock fine, without issue.

I ordered mine on 24th Dec 2020 and I think they specify an approximate four week wait, so bearing in mind I ordered over the festive period, (I think they were shut for two weeks!) I was not expecting mine to turn up till maybe end of Jan / early Feb 2021. It actually turned up today, so bang on four weeks, pretty impressive, no delay due to the festive period at all!

I have not ordered a custom stock before, and as they are not cheap, I was slightly concerned about the stock being damaged in transit, but it turned up with no damage and no issues. It was well packed with thick soft packing paper type material, and then placed in a rather snug fitting box, then that was placed in another larger box. So well packed by the CS bods.

I was also slightly concerned, (never having ordered / used a custom stock before) that it would not fit my gun exactly and I would have to "fettle" it, but again, no worries there, it fitted the stock as nicely as any standard Weihrauch stock, took the old stock off, gave the action a quick clean, and placed it inside the new CS stock, with no issues at all, it fit like the proverbial glove.

The finish on the new stock was really good too, it had obviously been manufactured / produced using fine tolerances, and was very well finished, sanded smooth, mine looked like it had already had some oil treatment, as it was a nice deep walnut colour with some of the grain showing up nicely. I think with a couple of coats of ccl oil, the grain will pop out even more. My stock had no damage, there were no areas that were poorly finished, (even inside, where it is not on show, was well finished), no cracks, no splits, no unsightly marks, no knots, etc. Overall I am very happy with the stock that I received.

I think that, for a small extra charge, you can ring / email CS and ask for a "special" or "select" stock, eg: they pick out a nice stock example for you ensuring no marks, good grain, etc. However, I have seen a few CS stocks and to be honest, I have never seen a "bad" one, so I just went with the generic stock they supply. I understand all their Walnut blanks are to their own custom grade anyway, so you would be unlucky to get anything other than a nice stock IMHO.

Once the stock was on the action I did up all the screws, again, there was no fettling required, all the original Weihrauch screws did up ok, in the same holes, which all aligned perfectly with the new stock. The stock looked better than I had anticipated, transforming the rifle, (see pics below).

So to sum up, for me the whole process of selecting a stock, ordering a stock, receiving and fitting the stock, from CS Stocks, was an easy and pleasurable experience.
Would I recommend CS stocks, yes, absolutely.

My HW97 now, with her new CS Stock, quite a transformation, I think you will agree.

I hope this review is of some use to someone, Cheers. :)

I was tempted by exactly that for a TX200. I have resisted so far, so don’t add any large pictures, for gawd sake!

Iv been debating a new stock for my HW97, I’d like a lovely walnut one, Iv been on CS’s site but they don’t seem to give you a choice of wood, it’s pot luck what kind of grain you end up with like most I assume.
    Does look good though.

Would be interested to see it again after you have put some more oil on it

To a point, wood's wood. You can pay for them to hand select a blank, but there's no guarantee its going to retain any feature after machining
This is one I recieved today. Mine was lucky dip.
I find Custom Stock a great company to deal with

Yep. With stippling and no rosewood cap.
I also asked for a bit of the belly forward of the trigger guard taking out.
