1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I'd been reading a lot about these QYS pellets, specifically the heavy domed variant. Seemingly, if Vasily Zaytsev had been an airgunist, he would have insisted on using these pellets. So I felt I needed some in my life. I trawled the internet in search of these and couldn't find anyone with any in stock, at least not at a price I was willing to pay. Then I stumbled across Redbeck Shooting Supplies, who were selling them at £11.50 per tin or £11 if you buy 10. So I placed my order and went to bed a contented man.

This afternoon, I received a call from the shop who were sincerely apologetic that they'd sold 60-70 tins over the weekend and now only had 3 left. So they would send me those 3 tins (calculated at the 10 price) and refund the difference. I was about to accept when I asked whether they had any JSB heavies in stock. These had been listed as out of stock as recently as yesterday evening. It turned out that they'd received a delivery only today and yes, I could have the 3 tins of QYS and 9 tins of JSB Heavies for the original price of 10 tins of QYS. That I would say is going above and beyond customer expectation. I was really impressed by their alacrity and willingness to do right by the customer. I will certainly be putting more business their way.

Nice to hear of a fellow airgunner getting decent customer service for a change; we read so often of poor service from companies who should know better!

I use them for the majority of my gear.
it also helps that I pass the shop twice per day and and get on with all the staff and have/do shoot with most of them.

Adding to the OP... only 2 weeks ago I stopped off at Redbeck Shooting on my way home and got 2 tins of the QYS heavies... it was a far cry from the last time when I went there to get pellets (Cheapest pellets in the West Yorkshire area except for JSB .22 Hades...) as you had to queue in an outside marquee to get served due to Covid regulations..

BUT, the chap who served me could not have been more helpful and apologetic for the current sales situation.

I got my 2 tins of QYS at £11.50 a tin.

    Well done Redbeck...

My latest trip to them was just the opposite, called in last week to purchase a HW97KT synthetic stainless, they had been out of stock for some time and priced at £420. Checked web site and back in stock but priced at £465, not to worry because they have a price match guarantee. Asked the guy at the tent to price match at £420 and gave him two places in the midlands and lincs where they are this price. The guy said he would have to check, when he returned he told me £450 was the best they could do. I have spent a lot of money there in the past but they won't be getting any more.

Did they explain why the price had been bumped up at their outlet; perhaps their supplier has raised their prices and the other dealers that you quote are carrying stock at the old prices.

No explanation as to why they would not match the price, even though the web site says price match guarantee.

Did you actually ask them as to 'why' they wouldn't price match the outlets you quoted? When I was hunting down a Walther LGV Master Pro and approached Redbeck Shooting Supplies by phone they were most helpful, despite having none in stock at that time, but did warn me that they didn't know when they would be available and at what price they would be paying for them when they did become available again. I wasn't aware of their price matching policy at the time.

Perhaps you should have asked to speak to their manager.

Why advertise a price match guarantee when they clearly do not I’m sure that they are breaking one law or another. Very naughty no matter what.

Their price for the HW100 has just jumped from £855 to £940. It must be a supplier price rise for it to be that large.
An RFD near me has them still at £820 though, up to date silencer and sidelever so definitely not old stock.

It was the manager that made the decision, i really did not want to get into the reasons, as far as i am concerned they are not standing by what they say on their site. I will certainly not spend any more with them so their loss.

I can confirm there has been a price increase from Weihrauch, so if they didn't have old stock you can't blame them (other than if you want to argue their 'price promise') - it's hard enough to get hold of HW's at the moment! There are also lot of places advertising cheap prices at the moment but without any stock...

As a side note - We actually had someone a couple of weeks ago wanting us to price match an HW100 at £560... He printed off the web page and everything! More research and we found that the shop went out of business donkeys years ago, but webpages still floating around out there in cyber space, mk1 fixed silencer and no quickfill! :p

I heard tell that there are plenty of HW99s rifles on the SH market but I bet that is very galling for someone!
