1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

Hodg, Tone and soon Rattus will have one so I'm sure they will be on in a bit to give you some info. If I were to be in the market for a new main target gun this would be it. I have seen a lot of top shooters (including Tone) win several competitions with these rifles. Bit of a waiting list but just starting to see more and more of these on the circuit.

Seen them used and had a brief go with one, enough to know its not up to my ev2 standards.
Ok if you want something different

One of the guys at the club (MVAC) I use has one, has had it for over a month now, can't say that his scores have improved with it as he was in the top group of shooters (90%+) with his previous rifle. athough he did get beat the other day by a newbee who has only been shoting for about 3 months using a standard set up AA s400 classic. (68-72 ex80) we normaly shoot a 20 target HFT course on Sunday's. I have had a quick go with it and as you would expect for the money its a very nice bit of kit, I found it to be heavy (I use an AA s400) but the weight is well balanced, can't give you any more info as I have only shot some of the top rifles when trying out other club members rifles and putting just a few pellets through.
if it fits you and you shoot very well with it then it's a good rifle.

According to a fellow shooter who uses a heavily modified TM1000 for competition, it is a refined Rapid with a side lever ;)

Customising a Steyr makes a very big difference:

I made both stocks. The FT is made of walnut and the BR of ashwood.
It is the same action - short frame FT 2011 mod - with long air cylinder and long barrels in both 0.177 - 0.22 caliper.

The rifle was initially intended to operate at 18 lbft in 0.177cal, hence the long barrel which provides better air consumption efficiency and the longer bottle in order to ensure the neccessary autonomy for competition.
It was ordered at the factoty without a stock as I was planning to make custom stocks in order to balance it and make it comfortable to my requirements.

Due to a series of reasons that are not in Steyr's merit, the rifle eventualy had to be detuned to about 11.5 lbft in 0.177 cal in order to provide acceptable accuracy levels, whereas in 0.22 cal is excellenet throughout the power range up to 36 lbft.

I have'nt had the opportunity to compare it against the "short" version and all I can say, after all the adventures I have gone through with it, is that this Steyr is rifle that I love to hate and hate to love.
