90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

    Hi,

Wasn't really planning on selling this, but due to new rifles on the horizon and couple of other cash related requirements I am putting up for sale my extremely rare 1983 RWS Model 50 type 01 in .22 calibre.
These rarely come up for sale as there is not a lot of them about and its hard to find them in good condition.

It is stamped with "Made in West Germany 08 83" showing that it was manufactured in August 1983.
From factory it has been parkerized and also comes with a very unusual stock which is very pretty in colour and grain. Almost an orangey colour of wood with the orig butt padd that looks like its never been put to shoulder.

Has a MattW SS delrin silencer fitted which brings the sound levels down very nicely.

Overall condition is extremely good with only a few very small marks. Has been kept in a gun case in a back room while in my ownership and prior to that was kept in a padded cabinet by the previous collector owner.
It shoots like a dream. Accurate, consistent and very refined. That said its hardly seen the light of day for the last 3 years.

Will be supplied in the accompanying RWS hard case with foam lining.

I am looking for of £290.00ish including the case plus postage if required.

Payment by paypal or cash. If using pay-pal dont forget the fees, usually 4%.

Has the stock been sanded down? Sorry can't tell from the pics, looks a bit matte. Should be lacquered, possibly it's just the photos playing tricks.

Also have the foresight dovetails been filed down in any way so the silencer was fitted, and is it fitted with a grub screw?

Do you still have the foresight?

Does it actually have a buttpad? AFAIK it should not, just bare wood.

    Hi,

Stock is standard with no sanding as far as I can see. Almost a bare wood. As mentioned above there were a few that were not varnished from factory. Also includes the Butt-pad that is branded as a Kassnar. (Shown in the pic)
These rifles did include butt-pads of varying types. Anything from very thin simple rubber pads through to chunkier models with spacers.

The front-sight dovetails remain as standard. Simply used a silencer that was 1.5mm larger than the barrel and the silencer has a little padded tape around the inside to ensure it slides on without doing any damage. The silencer is fixed with a small grub screw.
Unfortunately I do not have an orig front sight. Could never find one that looked right.

    Hope that helps.

    All the best.

Mine is very definitely varnished, is shiny (original). It also has no buttpad at all, but the butt is not straight (flat faced) as yours is, it's contoured and has ribbing for grip, it could not take a buttpad "as is" without the stock being modified.

The "bare wood" comment I made above referred to the lack of buttpad, not lack of finish. The frontsight sadly is a great loss, as the original is "winged" military-style and I really have no idea where one would source one from.

Call me crazy - but I never can have enough of the model 50s! I seem to be buying them all up! But I'll leave this one for someone else, best of luck with the sale.

I see. Just out of interest what is yours branded as. Seems to be loads of variations including RWS, Diana, Original, Gecado. Could be why they are all so different. I have a 1970's mod 50 that has a varnished finish a little rubber but pad and a tunnel sight. Keeping that one I think.

Mine is an RWS, and from memory it's possibly the same year as yours, definitely 80s however.

If it works, here's a pic, note the front sight design and the butt end:

EDIT - it worked, but for some reason Imageshack has rotated the image vertically, sorry!
