1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

None that I can think of.

It is a lovely accurate rifle. Have a good look at and shoot with different weight/head size pellets until you can get a nice tight group (5 pence piece) at 35 metres.
I have the made in Birmingham, single shot .22 which is nice but the .177 will give you the flatter trajectory.
My only comment is that it can be a bit on the heavy side after shooting for a bit. Mind you, I am an old git (57 years old)

Sort of, had an AT44 not a bad rifle but not as good as my "Viper" (Raider 2 shot) accurate enough but not brilliant 3/4"-1" at 25mtrs where as my "Viper" will do 1/4" or ragged single holers at 25mtrs !!!...

Yep the Viper is the one to go for, especially a "venom viper" made in Birmingham.

I saw one the other day on Guntrader I think, scoped up, looked mint, £300

I cant think of a better airrifle for £300 with a scope, mounts, bag everything, its a VENOM fettled version of a Raider with a shrouded barrel and nice stock!

If I had only £300 for a gun that is what my money would be going on.

Thats funny mine would ragged hole 10 shots at 30 metres no problem (.177). Perhaps it was the ammunition? Some guns are fussier than others!

Yeah I think the earlier ones where a bit "hit n miss" so far as accuracy goes, some had a Walther barrel (apparently) and others had Hatsans home brewed barrel !!!

The crowning on mine was terrible, it wasn't even central and it looked like it'd been done with a counter sink but having said that I don't know what the newer ones are like !!!...

Basicly "Minton" get the Raider !!!...

I payed £300 for mine plus silencer scope mounts etc, I thought the Raider was about the same for the rifle !!!...

Let's just say any gun wearing the name webley venom and I dont mean those other webleys that were prestige I mean proper venom, would not have got through the door otherwise I doubt venom would have put their name on them, so they should be a lot more accurate than an average.

There's a guy got one in the gallery on the WOC and I think he had the popes work on it and make him some bits, it looks amazing, the kind of gun I really like, in fact I like it better than the average daystate and thats saying something.

I had a Walther barreled one, but now the Hatsan 44 is a serious contender in PCP terms!

Had a couple of Raiders - loved them. Easy to own, operate, and work on.

    Had a Hatsan AT44-10.

    As above :)

Accuracy on my Hatsan was up there with the best of them - if it hadn't been it would have gone back.

This was the last two mags (20 shots) I put through my Hatsan AT44-10 at 30 yards:

Pellets were unsorted and straight from the tin - the only reason the group is as big as it is is me.

I'd have another Raider in the blink of an eye, or a Hatsan, if I was in the market.

All the 'OK for the money' comments you hear really yank my chain. I've seen high end PCPs stripped out revealing less than optimal engineering. Absolutely nothing wrong with a Raider provided its fundamentally mechanically sound, but I suppose you could say the same about any gun...

It seems the likes of the Humble Raider and older guns like the Axsors and fx2000s could teach the high flyers a thing or two about how to make an airgun.

I had less problems in 12 years with a Webley axsor than my,

    HW100,
    Rapids,
    Daystates,
    Ripley,
    Parker hale,
    career,

    Seriously!

Ive probably missed a few but those Webley PCPS were made to some tolerance, although they were FX to be fair, but I reckon the Raider has some similar DNA and was branded webley.

Ill be honest I had owned the Axsor 12 years before I finally got a leak from the filler O ring, but it was about a £5 fix and it went another few years without anything!

Try that with a Daystate lol and they cost all that money!!

I had a Webley Lite W8 for yonks as my go-to PCP rig.

It had great shot per fill, would knock nails in all day long, and never gave me any drama until it (literally) went up in a puff of smoke in a workshop fire.

    Gorgeous stock as I recall...

The FX2000 is IMHO one of the most underrated PCPs out there.

    Lots of good options available...

Yep I sold Tomsteebs on here my last fx2000 carbine with a lovely walnut stock, hes still using it as far as I know and rates it high even though he has owned the hw100s and FX verminators and Rapids, and hes had probably as many guns as me lol

I still rate them and would have another one in a heartbeat, if I found one as nice.
