rabbit stopper silencer

    hi and hello to all i have recently bought a rabbit stopper and every time i shot there was a rattle from the silencer. so i removed to look and there was parts of pellets in it. i was wondering if it should be on as far as it will go or just on the end of the barrel.
    any help will be much appreciated thanks.
