1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Mornin all,

Thinking of trying some QYS .177 out, has anyone given these ago in a tx200, if so what did you think? I gather they also come in different shapes and obviously weights which would be best to try for 25yd target?

    Mush,

The QYS 'Domes' (8.46 gr.) shoot very well in my TX200, and also very well in my HW break-barrels.

However, they do not shoot as well as JSB Express in my TX, and also loose about 0.5 to 1 ft.lb compared with the JSB.

Try them - they may be the 'pellet for you' in your TX ? :)

    Have fun :)

    Best regards

    Russ

Did finish up buying a tin of streamlined Domed, 8.46g today but can't try them yet because Nath's re-finishing my stock at the moment but really looking forward to giving them a go.

    Thanks for your replies.

I love these pellets. In all my pcps they are outstanding. I recently got myself a new tx200hc .177 and was excited to see how they would perform. I use the 8.48grn domed but to my dismay though the tx it was doing 1" groups at 20 yards. My mate I usealy shoot with had some 8.48grn streamlines so i tryed some of them and had the same result.
They seem to be a very loose fit in my tx barrel which may be the reason for the poor grouping as h&n ftt are a much tighter fit in the barrel and pellet on pellet.
Well worth a try tho as qys's have preformed best in all my other rifles.

It surprised me that they seem to be available in only two sizes , the largest diameter being 4.50mm. Having tried smaller sizes in other pellets without success I hadn't given these any further thought. Hearing they are so well thought of it makes me wonder what is it about them that makes them so good in so many rifles? Is it the softness of the lead or the thickness of the skirt?

I bought 4 tins of the QS streamline yesterday outstanding pellets in my tx200fl the only problem now is what am I going to do with the 6 tins of exacts the 5 tins of jsb heavy’s and the two tins of express  these all work well so I must be lucky with a unfussy barrel, I did try the heavier qys pellets I may have used a tennis racket to get them down range

A pellet is a pellet. A gun may like one, but not another, may like all of them, or if its a really fussy little git buster, you'll be looking for the right pellet from now till doomsday :)

Personally - and please dont take this as anything but my opinion, its not meant to offend- I've gotten sick of hearing about how brilliant pellet XYZ is. we had it with the Hades, and the QYS, before that it was JSB heavy.. if a pellet works for you, buy as many as you can, and enjoy them! If it doesnt, then dont buy them again. Doesnt matter what the pellet is- had a friend turn up with his absolutely spanking 97 he'd worked on- and he had left his pellets at home. I lent him some (bulldogs or similar price point) and an hour later he asked if I had anymore- they were better than anything he had used all year.

That's very kind of you Matthew but please don't , there is a guy at our club and he will let me try them . At the moment I'm more than happy with my JSB Exacts and ASDF. It was purely out of technical interest that made me ask why such a small diameter pellet would seem to be so successful to the point of not only being an Olympic choice but so many users , apart possibly from Guloluseus, being delighted with them.
    Thanks again my friend
    Jim
ps What also surprises me is why anyone who is sick of hearing about something has to read and then add nothing of value to a thread asking a perfectly reasonable question?
