1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Finally complete and zeroed in!

Its an Air Arms S400 MPR FT sitting in an Aeron ACZ Ultra Chassis with a Tilly's (@tillygti6) grip set from the same laminate blank that Bumble Bee came from.

The standard butt hook on the Aeron chassis has been replaced with a Field Target Shop HFT one however it is attached to the Aeron chassis using the adapter plate from an PR-S Gen 2 butt hook. Bit more details about this later.

The scope is a Hawke Sidewinder 30SF 10x42 with BKL double strap low mounts.

When I first bought WASP (back in July sometime!) I was actually looking for a Steyr 110 or 2014. However the person that I was talking to about buying one from also had this for sale.

    1.jpg 2.jpg

Looks ok, but more importantly it had already had a trigger tune and was a proven gun coming from someone that had won a national HFT championship with it (sorry I forget the exact details).

Cosmetically it was less than perfect but I had originally intended to just shoot it as is because it performed faultlessly. However I ended up ordering a Tilly grip set for it from the second half of the laminate blank that Bumble Bee was made from.

Then my OCD got the better of me....

The join on the carbon wrap on both the barrel and air cylinder wasn't exactly at the 6 o clock position so I thought I'd take it off and re-wrap it. I also don't like fake carbon (actually not too big a fan of real carbon on guns either) so I bought some matt black 3M wrap instead too. Had to take the breech assembly apart from the gun to do it but I took off the carbon wrap... and found underneath a barrel and air cylinder that were less than perfect.

Should have taken more pictures I guess and I can't recall what the thought process was but I ended deciding that the barrel needs to go to @Paul Chell and be reblacked so its perfect. The air cylinder was almost 10 years old and a new one is only £45 so I bought a new cylinder... and the rest of the gun came to bits and had a minor clean up a few seals replaced and went back together looking considerably shinier.

The bolts in the chassis had a tiny bit of rust in them inside the cap heads, so new bolts were ordered from Sure Shot and replaced. I also removed all the carbon wrap that was in the insets and cleaned it all up a little. Removed the original wood work and replaced it with the new @tillygti6 grip set.

If you look carefully at the butt hook in the picture above you'll notice there's a visible nylock nut and the carrier plate it sits on is quite thick. This was the original Aeron butt hook plate and the hooks bolt into this. That additional nut offended my OCD and mounting it this way meant you had two plates. So I sourced an extra PR-S adapter plate thinking I'd modify it to fit the Field Target Shop butt hook. I got lucky and it actually fits with no modification needed.

Put chassis and action back together and finally got it all zeroed in this weekend. Might need a few more minor adjustments to the chassis to get the fit perfect but its mostly there.

Forgot to mention about the barrel band.

When I bought it, the barrel had been free floated and it came without a barrel band. Great for accuracy but I didn’t like the way it looked unfinished because the valve cap didn’t screw all the way down to the valve housing.

The MPR barrel is thicker then the standard S400 so I wasn’t too worried about it being knocked out of place but you don’t have to search far to see that people have had POI movements even with MPR free floated barrels.

So opted for a Rowan Engineering barrel band but ordered with a barrel internal diameter 2mm larger than the outer diameter of the barrel. I then also removed the O ring inside it before fitting.

This has left the barrel free floating still but restricts its movement should it take a knock and also finishes the muzzle end of the gun more nicely.

I've not had a chance to use it much beyond zeroing it in yet but it to be honest.

Zeroing in was very easy, took about 5 or 6 shots and then it was pellet on pellet with ease at 20m, no fliers to speak of. That's probably not such a big deal but I've not got such easy consistency and pellet on pellet with single .177 size holes with another gun quite so easily before.
