1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

Hi all , shiney new Daystate Huntsman Classic (.177) delivered Wedneday and thought I'd share my first impressions.....

Firstly a big  for the Airgun Centre in Rayleigh for there good customer services. Not sure what you usually get as standard with the Huntsman but mine came with the single pellet tray, quick fill adaptor and a gun lock on top of the obvious mag/case/pellets/targets .......

I had to move the scope to suit my 'eye' but other than that it was ready to go.
Nice walnut stock but not spectacular , though the chequering and overall finish is superb (expected for the money!)

Magazine was tight to slide back in to start with but its getting smoother everytime I do it (as is the cocking bolt). A combination of me getting use to it and the mag/bolt bedding in I guess. Fiiled her up (200 Bar on mine) and proceded to 'zero' the scope in the garden where I only have a measured 16yrd range. Was soon getting tight groups with Rangemaster Li's (the trigger is the best I've used by a long, long way!!) Had run out of daylight by that time so decided to put a few pellets over the combro...........

The test certificate that came with the rifle stated an average of 11.4ftlb (max 11.61) with Air Arms Field
All 10 shot averages starting from 200 Bar (50 shot total).....

    Daystate Rangemaster Li's 4.5
    10.80/10.90/11.12/11.20/11.21

    H&N FTT 4.5
    11.11/11.19/11.47/11.74/11.63

    Accupells 4.5
    10.40/10.64/10.71/10.91/10.95

    JSB Exacts 4.52
    11.93/12.20/12.29/12.45/12.43  (worth trying 4.51 ??)

    Falcon Acc Plus 4.5
    11.00/11.08/11.26/11.33/11.34

Have since managed to check the accuracy of the above pellets at 16 yrds and all group very well...but guess which were the best (almost single hole over 10 shots)....yep you guessed it , the JSB'S!! Shame as there obviously a non starter!
Next best were the H&N FTT and Falcons thought the Falcons group was about 10mm higher than 'zero'

Will hopefully get out over the weekend and re zero at 30yrs (interesting to see how much 'drop' there is from 16yrds)

On a side note the JSB's and Falcons were the easiest to load in the mag, just dropping straight in and indexing where the others sometimes needed a slight tap on the face of the mag to 'seat' them and allow the mag to index.

All in all very pleased with the new 'toy' and looking forward to seeing what the local rabbits think to it

Great rifle Wolfie. I haven't collected mine yet, it is still at Blackpool Air Rifles (all paid for!). I got the last one of 20 that were built in 20 cal using Anschutz barrels. So it is an even more limited edition than the Wingmaster!

I am interested to see the results of those JSB pellets. I would give it another go with them with the pressure at around 180 bar and give it a 20 shot string to see if it is still going over. You would get pulled for that and I bet JSB are one of the pellets that are used in testing. Pete will sort it though, you have the luxury of a lifetime guarantee on the rifle and scope because you got it from TAC. Did you not get a certificate of test with the rifle? Blackpool also offer ann extended warranty of 5 years with any rifle from them as part of the deal.

I can't wait to get mine rigged up now. Lightstream 4.5-14 x 44 scope going on the top of it.

Lets see some pictures of yours Ivysan.....

That is a cracking looking rifle Irv ;) Studs fitted ok,bit 'hairy' drilling the fore end as not much wood to play with!!

Accuspell the rifle did come with a test certificate stating an average of 11.40 ftlb with Air Arms Field.
I can't believe there was over a 2 ftlb difference between so called 'quality' pellets though
The first 10 shot average was just under the 12 ftlb limit but as you can see at 190ish down to about 160ish all 10 shot averages were well over!

Going to run some more pellets through today and see whats what!

If I get the same sort of readings with the Exacts I guess I have a problem
Makes you wonder how many rifles out there would run over the legal limit with certain pellets, as I'm sure not everyone has access to a chronoscope and tries all the pellets available
