1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

Looks good, how are you getting on with it? How long have you been using it?

I just put mine back on the air rifle and off to bother a few rats later :p

Cheers, had it since February not used it lot .Changed mounts to BKL single clamp from the SM Blueprint double clamp that are pictured as i had to shim those. The BKL singles help with a bit more eye relief as its a tricky fit with the magazine in the way.

Do you use the photon as both your day and night scope as I've gotten rid of mine due to finding the photon crap as a day scope plus it was a pain having to re-zero when I changed from a day scope to the photon then back again?

Its just for night only its just not good enough for me anyway as a day scope .I don't like swapping scopes on & off whatever the occasion i tend to find a scope suitable for the rifle then leave it there.Keep setting up errors to a minimum.

I've had the same, its a shame because I bought it over the nite site because I thought I would just keep a rifle with it on but it never works out because one day I want it on the .17 and the next on an air rifle and it ended up just never been used,

Put it on a dedicated air rifle now so hopefully thats where it will stay.
I know one chap who bought two one for his rifle and one for an air rifle then has duplicates of the rifles with normal day scopes on.
What it would be like to be rich :p

hello, many people are finding these photons not easy to use, yes the B/W screen can be off putting as using in the daytime but for the money its a good tool for air rifles and with extra I/R fac rifles. i put a plastic cap with a 25mm hole on the advice of somebloke and get much better clarity, and i use a yukon recharge battery 8 hours of time and i cant use extra I/R unless i fix to scope but i have never needed as i find to 50mtrs its ideal. i zero to 20mtrs as most of my shooting is ratting at night with a FXT12 .177 JSBs heavy, 16 shot mag, i use a DIY tripod as per hunter vids, i use hold over/under method depending on distance, hold/over when rabbit shooting, anyway percevere all you photon users as for a digi N/V scope compaired to the tubed types and yukons warranty i want another!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh here is another debate .22 or .177 for rats?????????

For day use I have a flip up front cap with a 10mm hole and a red filter which gives a good image. I did find that turning on the red dot in the reticle to maximum brightness also helps and makes it much easier to get on target.

Same here mate I leave the photon on my HW100 permanently, On the upside it was a good excuse to buy another HW100:D
I find the more IR you use the better the picture in the photon, if you are going to fix an IR torch to the photon get the adjustable weaver torch mount from Scott country its the dogs B*****ks.
