1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Some people have said that the quality of the Diabolo fields could be better, I have noticed the odd flier but put that down to me, some people that see the fliers say "I see your using Diabolo fields, they'll do that due to poor quality control" but they are at the top range of the price bracket and I know this doesn't really mean anything but I notice the RWS Superdomes which are a couple of quid cheaper per tin of 500 and lots of people use them, anyone able to tell me if the quality is there with the Superdomes or are they best avoided? I've only ever used the Diabolo Fields .177. Most people seem to recommend the JSB exacts.

    Thanks all!

Love jsb exacts, switched to them from aa fields because I felt that although they are essentially the same pellet I got better consistency with the JSBs. tX200 quite like aa express but might find the jsb version and try that instead

My HW98 was tuned with "Domes", I assume this means the RWS Superdomes or might it just mean domed headed pellets?

I dont rate super domes at all (superfields on the other hand are great), but i realise i am in the minority, i use H&N barracuda match a lot, yet to find a rifle the don't work in, my HW100 loved them! My brocock does now too!

If someone says Domes, I'm pretty sure they mean RWS Superdomes.

I would say the RWS Superdome is the nearest thing to a universal pellet there is, even if it's not the best pellet for your gun it will probably still perform to a reasonable extent & that includes older British 5.6mm barrels.
Check out BAR for an actual photo of the pellet, I'd say pretty good quality. I opened a new tin last night & not a bad one in sight.

I tried the Superdomes field line, don't know if it's the same pellet, and my TX's don't like them at all. I bought these after reading many good reports on forums, but have been un-able to produce a sub 2" group at 25m. These are .177, not .22. I looked closer and found little bits of lead debris stuck on the head of nearly all the pellets.

RWS tend to be very good in German springers... As are AA Fields. both very accurate.

Fact is that all rifles have their own preference for which pellet they accept best for accuracy etc. A pair of rifles of the same type may well prove to have different pellet preferences. I know mine does. The choice between pellet types for any rifle can only be ascertained by making a number of test shots with a variety of pellets at the same range under the same conditions (preferebly using a bench rest/stand) and see which is the most accurate. First step being to discover what pellet other same type rifle shooters use to give a start point. Add to that that in any batch of pellets (other than the very expensive pre-weighed/examined match ones) there will be both weight and size differences, small though they are. Any such differences will affect the accuracy of any pellet. If anyone asks me I will advise and give a small selection to try just as I have done before and logically that is only if they too have the same type of weapons I use.
Hope that is some help to you.
    Gudd Luck.......

Rws sd have never got into the top 5 pellets out of about 20 guns I've pellet tested, but aa field/Jsb have got into the top 5 of about 18 of those.

    Edited: added "i've" if that's jd's problem?

My profile shows the 33 rifles I've owned, and very conservatively said 20 I've tested these in, I tend to always test them due to price, build quality and low grains.

Didn't see any comment about you testing them.

I've been shooting RWS superdomes and H&N Ftt's for 25 years and there always my first reach to pellet, I've yet to find a Hw or Diana rifle that didn't shoot well with either of these pellets.

I can see them in both posts?

As i say, they have always performed standard-good but never as good in about 18 rifles, as quite a few others, (we are talking about 5mm at 25yards)
Supefields hold a lot better results, and so do all domed h&n's, jsb/aa diabolo pellets are Bettter in 90% of them or terrible in the rest.

    Just what ive found

As said mate I was a little confused between the "domes" term if this meant Superdomes or a domed pellet, my 98 came with a tin of AA Field Diabolo's you see?

Thanks for clearing that up Oliver, I'm a bit slow on the uptake ;)
