1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I’m going to buy a short, non bull pup, .22 pcp for ratting.
I’m a big Weihrauch fan and already own three variants of the 100 carbine and a 97kt all in the thinking man’s calibre, (.177 for all the non-thinking members).
I also have a soft spot for BSA and have owned a few R10s and even more Ultras.
My choice has been meticulously whittled down to two rifles. I’m not interested in anything else apart from a BSA Ultra in .22 or the even shorter, and regulated, HW110K in .22.
Not interested in .20 (the compromise calibre) or .25 (the experimental calibre).
Both of my chosen rifles work out at roughly the same money.
    I can get the 110 for £660 and the Ultra for £490 + HW silencer - £60 + spare mag £50 so £600
What say the agf massive? What would you go for?

Another weihrauch all day long, I understand you have a soft spot for bsa’s but a weihrauch is a thinking mans rifle for the job in hand,
Some say a little soulless but it’s the right tool for the job imo

HW110K. I’ve owned one and my nephew has an Ultra.

The HW is a far nicer rifle to handle, the shot cycle is smoother and it just generally feels better out together.

It is however completely soulless and has no character hence why I sold mine.

I have a HW110k in .22 even with a full size mod attached it’s still lovely and compact , really consistent and as accurate as I am .

edit : as for being soulless , once you’ve snatched a few with it I’m sure you’ll warm to it nicely :p

It's got to be an ultra for me....

Early low breech mmc single shot I'd have, for stalking purposes.

For static shooting I'd be tempted with the SE..

Id Probably go for the plastic stock too,
Ive still got the tac stock here, from the ultra I dropped off the top of a horse box, many years ago.. unscathed..

Until you have shouldered a Compatto you won't know how good they are. Mine cost less than 400 with scope....

Ultra for me because of the tuning bits & bobs available.

If I were keeping the rifle bog standard then possibly I would go the 110 route instead.

You've obviously had the same dilemma as me :D
Out of those two, it has to be the HW110k for me. I am budget conscious with my personal decision so a used Ultra would win the day. Good luck :p

Out of those two options, I'd go for the 110. :thumb:
Mainly cos I've shot a few and they were all ok, a bit plasticky, and the lever is not as smooth as the 100, but apart from that...
I've never shot an Ultra, so can't comment on those...

I have owned two Compattos mate. Compared to an HW or a BSA, they are very poor. I got excited when Daystate took them over and I still like the idea of their magazines, but, in the grand scheme of things, they’re not even in the top ten. Sorry.

    Ultra !... :thumb:

Fer chroist sake buy something different, you've already got 3 "Weihrauchs" and all in .177 too  so why the hell would you want another one, and "yes, I know" the 97's a Weihrauch too but that's different, it's a springer, the 3 in question are pcps...

I really do struggle to see the rationality in buying the same rifle in the same calibre, and x3 too !...

Not a pop at you particularly buddy, each to their own n'all that, just a personal view... ;)

I love all HW except for the 110, I can't help but feel it's a cheapening of the brand, like if you buy a Porsche Boxter & not the 911, fair enough if you want a lightweight gun but there's plenty of those without going plastic.
Personally I'd go for the ultra.

Listen to the noise the magazine makes on the HW compared to the BSA when indexing, so much more soothing and satisfying compared to the plastic crunchy grind produced by the BSA

Not calling all people who have them one, but Freeads is full of tinkers selling ultras too
