1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I’ve been going to a small lake for years now it’s by some farmland & is not a true fishery, bailiffs ect.

I wanted to take my nephew there for a few hours as he loves his fishing atm. He’s also been to same spot before & caught dozens of skimmers.

So I thought why not let’s go for a few, I got there & the water wasn’t right.

No rises, very quiet not a single fish in sight.

I walked around the small lake & could see dried up weed on banks.

Now to me that can only mean two things.

1 Someone has tried to rake the swims & brought in a load of weed.

2 some :censored: has been with a net & cleaned the lot?

We was there for at least couple hours no bites, where as before (last month) you couldn’t stop catching & getting bites.

I was really annoyed that someone :)censored:) has come & taken all the fish & we left without 1 catch.

Someone has definitely netted the lake as it’s very small & could be done easily.

A beautiful little spot close to home has now been ruined, fumin:mad:

How racist, why most likely polish? I get you're p****d but stereotyping using racial profiling on a public forum isn't the answer. Not to mention you actually have no certainty in what has happened.

In the same way that French people cycle around with a basket full of baguettes and a string of onions?

I'm also a fisherman for over 50 years, and a bailiff on my local waters. If that patch of water has been netted, it could be the owner has had enough and sold the fish on to a bigger fishery. Or maybe couldn't be bothered with the hassle of paying rates, insurance etc. and decided enough was enough. Another reason for netting is that the water quality has suffered and the oxygen levels were too low sustain fish life.

Like I said mate it’s not a paid water as in no bailiff.

It’s owed by council & there’s a patch of farmland next to it that’s fenced off.

I’ve been fishing there years with no sight of bailiff or owners:shrug:

It’s on a public footpath & many people pass by:shrug:

    This spot you fish...

Have you spoken to the land owner/fishery manager?

Or is it a “spot” spot ;)

All lakes are owned by somebody, They are always on somebodies land or in the hands of the local authorities.

Removing fish stock (if that is what has happened) is illegal.

When was the last time you were there? As since your last visit the reeds could be down to spawning, and if there’s no control or management on the water you could’ve had a dud day because the water has recently turned over.

Any signs of poor water quality?

    Low water levels?

    Dead fish of any species?

It does happen that fish are taken for the table, but usually the methods used do not really contribute to damaged banks and reeds.

Often when such things occur tethered lines are left along with rubbish etc.

I used to have my own 21 acre lake in Hampshire (for my sins) and have seen, dealt and nearly drowned someone over this.

I have been working in the tackle industry for 15 years now (Nash Tackle) and we’ve observed these actions are becoming less and less, though still present.

To anyone that knows to why I’m saying polish? You have experienced it yourself.

I’m not trying to be racist, if there is any polish in the thread that has not liked what I said then I apologise.

Like I said I have polish friends & they even admitted to taking fish out of our uk waters. It’s mostly European anglers out for a free meal. Which I don’t mind as they’re out for food but to take the whole lot
Mate I was only there last month with my lil nephew we caught loads & the water was teeming with babies I also saw a few large carp by the bank at least 10lb

    Now it is dead
