1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Hi all,

I first had a Co2 pistol way way back in the flavour of a 92fs, which I really enjoyed plinking about with. So nearly 15 years later I’m looking to find one or two more for a bit of fun.
As much as I like the old western style colts etc I’m more a modern looking pistol kind of person. I’d prefer pellet over bb’s and probably a rifled barrel for a little more accuracy? I’m also not that worried about blowback, although it looks fun.
I currently have a Umarex legends S25 which is great fun and has got me wanting a few more.
Here’s what I’ve seen and liked so far but really need to make a choice and go with it.

Glock (Gen, Seems to be the choice of many?)
    Sig P226
CP88 (if I can find one in VGC)
    CP99
    HK USP

what would you pick and why? I’m leaning towards the Glock or the HK USP but still not sure. any advise would be great

    thanks :thumb:
    Jon

Glock 17 gen 4, for excellent build quality and blowback realism.
The cp88, for again solid build, pellet firer with good accuracy and decent power, the cp88 has been sold for years by umarex and still popular, says something about it

I would start with a non blowback pellet firer to rekindle the pistol fire , any of the 8shot rotary style should do that and they look good , feel good in the hand and shoot pretty well too , There’s been some proper bargains in the classifieds lately so I’m sure you could get a Cp88 , Beretta or 1911 variant you get started with and being that they are popular if you didn’t get on with it I doubt you’d lose much of any money if you came to sell it on.

The XDM is a better pistol than the Glock Gen 4. Better built. Better sights. Better feel. More Accurate.

But it is blowback and BB like the Glock and you say you don't want that? Both the USP's are BB too.

    Hi Jon.
If you want pellet and blowback, the Dual ammo Glock 17 would be my choice. If you want accuracy I would consider the CP99 or H&K P30. Both rifled barrel pellet firers. Or even the S&W M&P 45 rifled barrel pellet firer with single action and double action trigger.

The Glock 17 Dual Ammo pellet firer with rifled barrel:

I started with the 8-shot Umarex versions too pretty much when they first appeared in the UK - CP88 then 92FS, then RWS then Winchester and Desert Eagle. All are still great fun to shoot.

The Glock 17 Gen 4 is everything folks say - it feels wonderful and so much like the real steel it's unbelievable, but not such a great "shooting" pistol accuracy wise.

I do love the SIG P320 - 30 pellets in one load is great fun. No where near the feel of the Gen 4 Glocks, but a reasonably accurate gun (still blowback though).

I will probably put up a wanted tonight mate before rushing out tomorrow and ending up with something else I probably won’t want.
The classifieds seem to be getting swallowed up from someone in Aberdeenshire for the last month or so lol.

As you already know, pellets firers are more accurate, but in my opinion not quite as much fun as a blow-back-lock-back Glock. That’s the one I’d choose over any other, any day. Not particularly accurate, not particularly powerful but the fun factor? Yeah, that’s off the stratosphere. Magazine slamming blow back zombie killing lock back mag drop mayhem! - in the garden - when the Mrs allows :/

I’ve tried a lot of pistols, pellet & BB but Glock all the way, particularly gen 4. It’s a replica faithful to the real steel and very well built indeed. A person would need to get hold of one and spend some time firing the thing to really appreciate this little beauty. I know it has its detractors and it’s only a personal opinion but that’s the one I’d want to keep if I had to get rid of the gun collection.

The Glock is pellet and bb and I would use pellets only, just prefer it that’s all.
I’ll look up the XDM, thank you

Of all my non western shooters, my go to pistol is my Glock 17 Dual Ammo. I love the magazine system on these. I have had a Gen 4 and want another one too.
