1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

I recently followed up the suggestion that Cromwell do o rings pretty cheap. They do and I bought 200 of BS108's which are shown as the breech 'o' ring in a couple of parts suppliers catalogues. However I looked at the exploded chart at the rear of the Air Arms Users Guide which came with the rifle and double checked online only to see Air Arms part details have the number BS008 listed.
Cromwell's catalogue shows the BS008 as 1/16" cross section and 3/16" internal diameter, it shows the BS108 to be 3/32" and 1/4" respectively.
Without actually digging out my rifle's o rings to check it would appear that the BS108 is a reasonable fit whereas, and I don't have any to try, the BS008 would appear to be very small. The Air Arms part number is TX221.
If you buy from any of the normal air rifle parts suppliers these o rings can cost up to £4.49 a pair plus postage. It was my intention to bag up them up, 4 or 6 at a time, and let club and probably forum members have them for a pound or so. It is not my intention to try and make a load of dosh out of o rings but it seems a shame that people are asked for a lot of money for something that only costs a shilling or so to buy.
You can appreciate however that I will not do anything until I am certain that the ones I have are correct. So the question is has anyone fitted any of the BS108's from Cromwell and/or has anyone any o rings from Chambers or Air Arms that they could just check the dimensions for me please?

I cannot help with regard to third party 'o' rings.
I buy everything from Julian Bond, he is the largest spares supplier of AA bits.
He has a sales thread on the Air Arms Owners Club site, username 'BGALTD'.
His prices are very good give him a call.

Thanks Dave, it looks like the Cromwell o rings are the right ones . At the club this afternoon and I passed some around to TX users, luckily Greyskull had an Air Arms supplied breech seal in his box of bits and they are exactly the same. Cromwell's advert shows them suitable for high pressure usage so I guess they must be more reliable than assorted o ring sfrom B and Q etc ( no offense meant to the users of their rings!)
As soon as I can get a few bags I'll put some together and let members know they are available, four for a pound or so inc p&p will be a big saving over the prices shown on some sites.
