  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

    Hi,

A couple of questions i'd like to know before I make an air pistol order.

    1. What do I need to be looking out for, to find the most powerful air pistol.
    2. What is the highest power to be LGEAL, in the UK?

PS. I am thinking of a Co2 pistol.

    Thanks in advance :).

Most agree the most powerful co2 pistol is likely to be something like a crosman 2240 which is highly moddable. There are a few experts on these on the forum, Blade, gantongunner, droid and Andy are all know to spend half their lives with crosmans in bits:D

Why do you need Max power?
If your only plinking top power really isn't needed. 3ftlbs is good for 10 - 20 mtrs using light pellets .177

CO2 is affected by the temp so using outside at this time of year may give under performance.
A springer or a pump action won't be affected anywhere near as much as a co2 jobbie. You have to have big pants pockets to keep the co2 bulbs warm

The Webley Alecto is pump action recoiless and will give approx 3ft lbs with one pump and approx 5ft lbs with two pumps.
Also have a look at some of the crossmans.

An air pistol producing more than 6ftlbs is a Catagory 5 prohibited weapon in the UK, so steer clear of anything that may have been moded to increase power. Posession of a Cat 5 prohibited carries a mandatory 5 year prison sentence.

    Thanks for replies.

I wasn't too mind set on co2, I just sounds more convenient rather than having to pump, I also like the sound of being able to load 6 BB's at a time.

Personally I am really into the looks of the revolvers. EG:

    • Swiss Arms Revolver
    • Umarex Smith & Wesson 6" Revolver
    • Dan Wesson Revolver

But again, obviously I'd like to feel I have the highest power for my money.

Is regards to the question above. I'd say my budget is around £250 maximum.

Webley alecto and enough for some pellets. You could pick one up in a good used condition for less than £200 if you don't mind looking and waiting.
Look at McAvoys at Standish but he can be a bit pricy sometimes.

You're not going to get power and realistic replicas,it's either one or the other.

If you want a woefully underpowered, shotgun spray like replica, along with a big co2 and pellet bill,go for a Umarex.

If you want accurate, comfortable, powerful match pistol, get an Alecto.

Alecto Webley was actually my first choice until I came across idea of no reloads, and semi fire. But I guess I am just going to have to face it, if I want power the Alecto is the way forward.

The Alecto is said to be an amazingly nice pistol and close to Uk limit, sadly I haven't had the pleasure to shoot one yet.

If you want a very fun and cheap pistol the Beeman P17 is nice at under 70 notes best feature is that is has good accuracy and trigger bad point is that it's made in China and some of them are poorly finished and eat seals ect. My P17 Chronied at 2.5 ftlb with RWS hobby. Another good option IMHO Crossman 13xx series are good for the money as well as being very easy to mod and tinker with but I have never tested the power of one through a chronograph. Their are loads of info on them out their on them.
