1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

    Hi to all!

I am new to the world of modern air rifles, last time I shot was as a boy of 10yrs, now Im 55!

I was amazed to see the vast selection of air weapons readily available, as I thought as from 2007 when the laws changed about airsoft weapons that it also included air rifles, how wrong was I, lol!

Anyway, from 1997 to 2008 I used to be a specialised supporting artist on many Police based TV shows, I use to own many authentic Police uniforms and kit such as Tokyo Marui electric MP5A4, MP5K, G36, Glock 17, which were required for many roles that I took part in, this is where my interest of firearms came back to me, well apart from one of my brother having a firearms licence back in the late 70's eary 80's, he owned a 357 Magnum, Colt 45, S&W 38 snub, Walther target pistol, and a S&W rifle, but thats another story.

A friend who collects war memorabilia recently informed me that I could buy high powered air weapons legally and without licence, he is also giving me a TM MP5A4, so I recently bought a Umerex Glock 17and a Sig Sauer .177 MPX. Im now awaiting a replica Eotech sight for the Sig and a bipod to aid sighting it up. For the MP5 I am sourcing a torch grip for better authenticity.

I live in Dartford and would like to know if anyone knows of any air rifle clubs /ranges / private land owners that would allow practice & pest shooting on their land?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Mate, You have one right on your doorstep, Google Hawley Clay Pigeon ground, give the owner, Andy a call, its off Church Road up the country lane, past the church... although he does not mention airguns on his website, he has a small airgun range. Its open 10am to 3:30ish Saturdays and Sundays, the range has target boards at 21m, 25m, 35m, 40m and 47m. Its £10 to shoot all day. He has porta loo type toilets and theres a very nice burger van who does teas, etc and makes his own Hog Roast sausages (highly recommended).
Its open air only, (we keep pestering him to put a cover over the shooting positions), so if its wet or windy, its generally fairly empty, if its a nice day it can get full up, theres space for about 10 peeps at once...
Theres a good bunch of lads there, you need to bring your own paper targets, but he has a few metal knock downs and we improvise our own targets too, string, empty clay shells, cocktail sticks, bells, etc.....basically you bring it and we'll shoot it.... :)
NB: He does not allow BB guns due to rick-oh-shays... but air (spring or pcp) and co2 is fine...
Look forward to seeing you down there soon.... I'll prolly be there this weekend... :thumb:

Cheers PJ, I didnt realise HCP catered for air rifles, will I be OK with my Sig MPX? I was a Supporting actor, you were given specific direction by the director & AD's, we worked closely with the principle actors, spoken lines, driving Police cars with blues & twos, making arrests etc.

Nice one on the acting, sounds very cushty... Don't know the Sig, just googled it, as long as its not BB then it will be fine. So needs to be pellet firing. If its co2 then he does not like you leaving the empty co2 cartridges around, (someone threw one in the bin a while back and it went off and nearly injured someone, so he banned them for a while), but he has recently relented and allows co2 again, on the strict understanding you take the used cartridges away with you, which is fair enough... If you are up there this weekend (weather looks good so far) give me a shout (Peter)... I might even buy you a tea.... :thumb:

Nice one. Yes, the Sig is CO2, and I would never leave rubbish on anybodys property. I will try to make it this weekend, can do with sighting this gun up with the fitted iron sights, as holographic sight hasnt arrived yet. May also be buying a CO2 Walther CP99 & Crosman M4 this week, which would also need sighting. Will be nice to meet you Peter.
