1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I've gone right out on a limb with this one.
Not in the respect of the one I've purchased not being a nice example of the type, more in that I'm not actually sure how I'll get on with it. And I'm not fully going to be able to ascertain that until I've used it (as with anyone buying any new rifle).

I've purchased a Steyr LG110 from a member on here @Drake267 and hopefully it will be coming to me tomorrow on RFD transfer.
    It's a model I've fancied for a long time.

I owned a H5 scout (manual cocking) which I loved, but I didn't like the mags. 5 shots are sort of neither here nor there in my opinion, and I prefer a single shot rifle for my uses. I'd also experienced an issue on one mag (possibly 2) where a shot from a paricular chamber on those mags would be consistently inaccurate. The shots from those chambers were also audibly different to the rest.
Though almost perfect in every other way, I just couldn't live with the mags and found the single shot mag a bit daft. A big sliding bar with one aperture.

Anyway, at the time I remember saying I wish they'd do a single shot version of the H5 (sort of a H1 :) ) but why would they when the have the LG range.
The LG has been on my Horizon since as a model I just needed to own and try.

    So back to the LG.
A little bit out there with the looks, but my experience with the H5 has me hoping the ergonomics will be better than they appear.
The length - longer than I'd really like but it does have the 450mm barrel so will only end up at the length of the H5 scout so I think I'll manage that.
The weight - not as light as I'd prefer, but again, hoping like the H5, the weight will be lost when mounted.
The chassis / foregrip - It's metal. It's fitted with a hamster, but I'm hoping I can get away without using that. It will shed some weight and slim the look down. That leaves the cold metal forend. I may need a glove but hoping not. I've become quite used to the exposed metal forend on the Leshiy and also the positioning of that in relation to the barrel so maybe that will be ok too.
The grip size? - Who knows till I handle it.

    The positive expectations ?
The trigger- If this is anywhere near that of the H5 I'll be happy
Accuracy - Hoping its a given and I have some of my normal pellets here waiting to try.
The use I'll put it to - Hoping this will make a field rifle for basically anything other than night shooting for rats, so a daytime hunter. With the added bonus that if my shooting changes with age and I have to resort to club shooting, it will do that nicely.

The leshiy has already immeasurably changed how I view rifles. I'm hoping this LG will do the same and it will end up with me owning it long term.

    Looking forward to tomorrow.

I look forward to you use and thoughts on the LG110 Rob. :thumb:

When I saw it for sale, I wanted it, "snoozed and lost".
So now I know who the lucky buyer was. Well done.:thumb:

    Hi Simon.
The LG has been at the top of my bucket list for years.
I really hope it works out as there are no more on the list. The LG is it :(

If it ain't going to work for me, I'll know in 3-6 hours.

If it doesn't work out, I'm shafted. There's actually nothing left that I want to try.
I'll end up sticking with the Leshiy and BSA's.
The new stuff coming onto the market just isn't doing it for me. I'd thought about one of the new FX dreamine lite compacts, but supply is still a bit uncertain, and one unfavourable comment actually canned it for me anyway.

I don't have a need for more than a couple of rifles Wofty, but I've pretty much gone through the lot trying to find the best for me.
I just hope this LG is one of them.

You need to try a vulcan 2 Rob. I seriously love mine. Not pellet fussy at all, accurate with most, really good build quality. Though I know you wouldn't like the tactic version, the full on pup would maybe be worth a try for you. Hope you enjoy the steyr. It really is a cracking rifle, though knowing what your favourite guns are it will balance differently. And you'll need the hamster on those cold days!

    Hi Warren
I'm hoping it shoots express, though my H5 shot superbly with the 10.34 (and nothing else).

Well after buying my Steyr I need some cabinet space & to replace the cash. But I'll probably sell my HW110 first.
