1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

Nothing to do with me whatsoever. gunbid.co.uk Virtually nothing on it yet, but might be worth a go if it builds up an audience. I think there is a need for an auction site that allows the sale of guns, if your gun is easy to price and has a big market, they fly on here, otherwise they can hange on for ages, prompting daft offers. If an item is difficult to price then an auction format is ideal.

Fees very complicated, a bit like the bay when it first started.

Dislike immensely the use of the word "weapon" in the promotional video.

Very surprised that it promotes Paypal for payment, I was under the impression Paypal didn't like scary guns, bullets, knives etc.?

Ebay own PayPal. I'm surprised that they are allowing an auction site to accept weapons with PayPal for payment. We will have to see how this goes.
The big nightmare is with non face to face deals. As everyone is aware, the only couriers who will knowingly deliver with insurance for retail/non account customers are the Royal Mail for small items such as a pistol and ParcelForce48 for larger items such as a rifle - maximum insurance cover is fixed at £100.

Paypal won't cover firearms sales of any type, so I can see that being problematic.

Yes they will, its only when using Ebay that they won't, if you look at some of the dealers like BAR then you will see they accept payment by Paypal.

Sorry Ken, crossed wires; I meant that Paypal won't offer any protection to the buyer if a deal goes south that involves firearms. Dealers can and do accept payment by this method but the buyer takes all the risk.

 Like norfolkdave states.....there is definite need for a site such as this, I too have been a many times victim of really insulting and daft offers from 'interested' buyers who want and expect much for little. Perhaps they should be named and shamed......that however is not realistic.

From what I gather now this site was advertised in the various Airgun magazines purely to attempt to lure custom. After a longer look at the website in total it gives me the idea that it is little other than a site to self worship and promote the site owners self worth ....try reading the long drawn out 'who am I' waffle (a narcissist perhaps?) until boredom :( forces you to change pages. Then there is the very poor layout, the inherent basic formatting errors, the poor incompatibility with other web browsers.....need I go on?
 No, I reckon that I will not be becoming a customer of it and will continue to to use our sales and wanted forums, GunMart and the ads from the usual magazines. As for PayPal....I have used this method to pay for all of my various purchases and have never had any problem by describing it as a gift or service depending on the amount.
It will be intersting to see what others think that have actually bought or sold anything on this one! I strongly suspect that it will fail and soon disappear from sight.
    What think??????????
