1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

I must be one of the lucky ones. As many would have seen from my video, mine was accurate straight out of the box and still exceeds my expectations even now. I only shoot .177 and it certainly isn't pellet fussy and holds zero perfectly. OK, a minor tweak to the zero between pellet manufacturers, but that's all, it holds it's zero thereafter.

As with everything in life, there will always be a rogue one, and not just rifles, it applies equally to cars, bikes, laptops, kettles, fridges and everything else.

I certainly hope you get yours fixed to the high standard expected from a high-end rifle Chris @32:1
Your experience hasn't been to good so far.

    Hi Tony :thumb:

To be honest mate we probably use our guns differently anyway, Im pesting and ratting and walking around the farm, while my fx was sat on the bench it was ok, it was when it was carried or leant up or packed into case and re-shot it would change its poi.
Im glad yours is ok bud and indeed we have had a few chats haven’t we. Lets hope the next one is as good as yours

This is not advert but a true story, few years ago I bought new gun from air gun centre, the gun came slightly hot at 12.2,
Contacted The shop via a telephone and they have asked me to sending it back which I did, I was promised it will be sorted and send back within three days which is fine as I was planning to go for informal target shooting with few of my mates. Gun didn’t come back on time and it took one week before I received it which meant I missed taking the gun for my planned shooting.
I was not happy and called the shop owner Mr Zamat, I did not complaint but expressed my unhappiness about what has happened, Mr Zamat was ver apologetic and said staff should have sent me a brand new one as it is not my problem to wait for the gun to be sorted, then he asked me if I was planning to buy anything from them in the near future as he is going to compensate me, I told him I plan to buy real tree hunting suits in near future, he asked about my size and said they don’t have any in the stock but they will let me know once they get any and promised good discount.
A week later I have received percussion real tree hunting suits which came directly from supplier, when contacted Air gun centre I was told Peter send it to me free of charge. 4C75ABFC-F384-472E-9A5A-4B7A1FAE2071.png

Hopefully it will perform perfectly in both .177 and .22 as you have both barrel kits to try ;)

I spent an hour up the farm with this and the only.22 pellets I had were my favourite Strattons and Ive got to say this is the only .22 Ive had that hates these pellets, couldn’t get a group at all so Ive got a bunch of samples coming as @Tim_B has a tardis full of lead

It was running at 11.66 with these pellets and is showing signs of reg weep as the first shot is always off when left for a few mins, this will hopefully bed in over the first tin.

So now I swapped calibre to the .177 while I wait for the .22’s to arrive and with my favourite .177jsb it was making 11.38 so perfect as nothing to adjust, this barrel was shooting ok as I was outside and it was blustery so the best I could get was 25mm groups, Im sure this was down to conditions, but the real test is now its been put in its case will it change its poi ??

Not a convincing session but at least I can now start to test the main issue of it changing its poi everytime its layed down

    Onwards :hunting:

Spent a couple of hours yesterday trying various pellets and found this liked jsb express and jsb jumbo 5.50, the 5.51 & .52 were bad, as was anything firmer like ftt’s and accupells and Ive found these liners are just as fussy as some conventional barrels

So far it’s inconclusive as outdoor groups are not as consistent as indoor range efforts due to conditions which is obvious and I refitted the vortex viper so as Ive a solid test bed, so now Ive rezeroed and setup with express I can now begin to test for the wandering poi, fingers crossed it holds true next visit

Have you been given a time limit to be happy with the replacement?

No time limit was given mate, plus it would be a little ironic if there was seeing how long it took to get this replacement wouldn’t it

Its been so windy on each occasion I cant get a good enough group with any pellet so far, express seem to be best but I do need a range visit really to do a decent test, and then to put it in case or lay it down to see if poi moves which was your job thinking about it ;)

As above Mark, I just cant get a good enough test at the moment, I need a still day or a range visit
