1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

Beautiful rifle but down on power ( 10.1 ftlb with air arms field) I'm hoping it will improve with running in. Does anyone have experience working on daystates. I have a triangle wrench on order and like to take all my rifles, motorcycles etc apart to see how they work View attachment 101333

Cant see why you would ever want to take anything apart jut to see how it works, but each to his own.
There was a thread on another forum a while back. Guy had the same grouse with a daystate, sent it back and it was returned at the same power.
Chap then came on and said try such and such pellet "I forget which" This took the gun well into FAC country.
    BE VERY CAREFUL.
My two year old Huntsman is still at the same power it was new so perhaps yours wont improve with shooting either.

Try it with bis mags or something of similar weight.

Dead easy to sort, read my review of the regal in the review section.

Just needs the harper central pip screwing out.

Mine does 11.4 now and hasnt missed a beat since.

To find out what power it does with a heavy pellet chrono the gun with barracuda extreme they make more power than bisley magnums through mine.

But the heavies only make 0.2 FT/IBS more than a atandard 8.4grn pellet.

Since I sorted mine im thinking its probably the most consistent gun I have and the other two are regged!

Peak of curve is single figures with ftt anmo, Im starting to think its probably my most reliable gun now as thrre isnt much to go wrong, plus the handling is fantastic.

Im the same once you get in there its obvious how they work, its just a matter of removing the hammer and taking it apart you will see the how the middle section screws out, about 2mm travel of the centre pip makes about 1 ft/ibs on a .177 gun IIRC

Before playing with Gun - Try Different Pellets

Set up with a Standard Pellet - being aware other pellets will bring up power

Especially as stated they are set up well - Power is Not the Only issue - Especially with Hunting - It's Pellet Placement -

No pellet is going to give him 1 1/2 ft/ibs more than what he is getting.

Bisley magnum usually make a lower power than barracda extreme in these guns.

From a bisley magnum I get 0.2 ft/ibs more than a standard 8.4 grn AA field, so my advice is a setting of 11.5 with an 8.4 grn pellet will leave you well within the law,

what I can say is once set these harper valves dont creep up or anything they stay put so if the gun he has is doing 10 ft/ibs it will more than likey stay that way unless he either adjust the harper or sends it back to daystate, you makes your choices.

It turns out that it really is very simple once you get in. Central pip now screwed out 2 mm. Will chrono it tomorrow. Btw. 3.5 mm hex drive works in the tri head bolts.

The pin that goes diagonally across the adjuster (secondary AT) is the nuisance, if that was removed, it would be very quick and easy to adjust.

My sons Huntsman went back three times and was still underpowered. I sorted it myself eventually, and it's been a nice little gun ever since ;)

Huntsman now shooting at 495 ft/s with Bisly magnums. 566 with air arms field. Much happier now.
