1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

Do not make inappropriate or offensive posts - including threats, harassment, swearing, prejudice, defamation, deliberate insults or name-calling, other negative remarks about this forum, its moderators and administrators or your fellow members. Even if this is just your own personal opinion, RESPECT YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS.'

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

My wife has just received a new iPhone and trying to set up a separate account from mine on the laptop is proving crappy. It keeps trying to load it as if it's mine no matter how many times I tell it not to.

The home button thing didn't bother me as I used the touch ID...
The thing thats has p****d me off royally is battery life,,,, christ it consumes battery real fast and used to shut down at 20 & 30% constantly

I dd a full reset and restore on it with a 100% battery and plugged in,
Then to calibrate the battery I ran it down till it died at 1% left it off for about 6 hours before I charged it again and left it plugged in after full charge for another 2 hours.
now my iPhone 6s behaves like it should.

I like the message enhancements where you can click a received text and give it thumbs up etc

IF you have more than one iphone on your itunes account... the synching is a bit bizarre.

My Mrs now has ALL of my daughters text messages, call logs, apps the whole shooting match on her iphone even though my daughters phone is on it's own profile, but it used to be the wife's. That's hardly what I'd call an advancement.

Me I love it... I'm on Android :D

To stop it happening the iTunes account needs to be logged out of before the computer is switched off. It's a pain if you forget because it messes the phone up. And if your not great on computers(like myself) then it can be a real pain.

5 years ago the difference between a top end Samsung or iPhone and a bottom end Android was enough to warrant the extra £££. The differences these days are rather small. Smart phone OS development has all but stalled. There are so many apps these days that any features a phone doesn't have can largely be found in several apps. New OSs are getting to be evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Android is so slick now that putting your own overlay on it seems pointless and the biggest talking point of the new iPhone was it's lack of a headphone socket rather than any improvement. For me the difference between a £100 phone and a £700 one is so small as to make the purchase of a £100 one an obvious choice. I think there's a lot of "badge engineering" going on with Samsung and Apple because if there's really £600 worth of difference their sales departments are failing to convince me.

Samsung do a lot of components for Apple, but fanboyism and brand hatred aside its what people prefer that generate sales.
I've never owned an Android phone, but I put Android on an HP Touchpad Tablet to replace the ageing webOS that HP installed on their iPad killer before they cancelled the product after 6 months.

Android brought that older tablet back to life and made it extremely useable in the modern day in the same way that Linux breathes life into older computer/laptop systems.
I enjoy the very closed ecosystem of Apple these days, strangely it was the closed ecosystem that forced me away from Microsoft & Windows back in 2001/2 with XP (even tough I did and still do love and respect XP)
and I found Slackware Linux, I cant remember the catalyst that made me switch to MacOS round about 2007 but I remember it felt right, and then the iPhones and iPad just fitted as an extension.

You can label me a sheep or a fanboy or a mug if you wish, but the bottom line is that it does exactly what I need, when I need and as fast as I need.
it just works and it suits me.

Many of you might read that and say that Android does that for me, or Windows mobile does that for me... of course it will!

these ecosystems are aimed at us to do exactly this, make life easy, make us lazy, and make us reliant...

While they silently farm all our personal data, our browsing habits, musical and movie preferences and our searches so that they can use very advanced algorithm's to to show us tailored adverts that will sell us things we don't even know we need yet.

I'm a self confessed Apple sheep,,, But if any of you Apple haters condemn me and honestly think Im the only sheep in the field.....
