1. The Forum Rules have undergone some minor changes and updates.  Please take the time to read them; it will only take a couple of minutes of your time. By doing so, you lessen the chance of incurring the wrath of the moderation team or making yourself look foolish to other members.

90% of users posting adverts in the Sales forums need to be reminded to read the rules as their posts are wrong.  This is unnecessarily time-consuming and will no longer happen - if your advert doesn't follow the Sales Rules it will be deleted and you'll have to start all over again.

  3. Dear members,

Our membership (like our country) consists of people from all walks of life; different in far more ways than can be listed here and each with a different view based on their experience of life - regardless of their colour, religion or cultural heritage. Every single person in the UK has been born of mixed race – we are a multi-coloured and multi-cultural country.

As many of you are aware there are a handful of individuals amongst this membership that persist in making provocative, inflammatory, racist and otherwise offensive comments. This has been happening across the forum to a certain degree but is most especially prevalent in the Adult section.

The moderation team has tried to stay on top of this, however unfortunately because of the ‘offensive’ nature of much of its content we don’t monitor the Adult section quite as much as perhaps we should. As a result much of this behaviour has gone unnoticed unless it has been reported to us. While the team always intended to take a "light touch" approach to the Adult section it would seem that some people aren’t quite adult enough to be left unmonitored after all.

This behaviour is, and always has been against Forum Rules as well as the specific stipulations of the Adults forum and it will no longer be tolerated. We feel it's time to draw a line in the sand and as such from this point onward offenders will receive an immediate and permanent ban from the forum.

In order for us to achieve our goal of restoring the forum to the friendly and tolerant place it once was, we ask that ALL members be mindful of the content they post and help us to stop unacceptable behaviour by using the 'Report' tool at the bottom of any offending post - the results of which can be seen only by Admin/Moderators.

You should all receive a copy of this message by PM.

  5. Postings on Politics, Religion & Controversial Off-Topic Material

The majority of users do not want to read about these subjects and people have left the forum as a result of it – this is after all an 'Airgun' Forum. It’s all very well to say they don’t have to read it if they don't want to, but as most of us use the ‘New Posts’ button there is no easy way to avoid it.

All AGF staff members are in favour of people being able to discuss what they want, but we have to draw the line somewhere if it is upsetting other users. We don’t want to read about these topics either.

IMPORTANT- The discussion of politics and religion is no longer allowed anywhere on the forum (including the Adult section).  The only exception is if it's airgun related - they must be put in the Airgun Related Politics section..

We will not tolerate bullying or personal attacks, racism or any other offensive 'isms'. we will remove these topics from the forum, we will not give you an area where you can abuse each other. We will not hesitate to ban offenders.

Your spot on with the economy figures, mate had a 56 plate then just got a new a few months ago, very capable off road, economy far better than most 4x4's out there, the engine issues were up to 54 plate cars and was something to do with a pully working loose on the timing chain or something like that, look at any car forum for a particular car and they all ALL have their issues, you have the comfort of a car with off road advantages and a massive boot - good choice imo hope you enjoy it - and the wing mirrors are perfect as a gun rest too :)

Is that something unique to Nissan Navaras?

    Isn't a Navara a bit of a 'traveller' wagon???

Get a LandRover Defender, a proper 4x4. I regret the day I sold mine, roll on paying the mortgage off so I can buy another one :)

The registration dates are the same for all cars, but Nissan Navaras are built in Spain so due to transportation and import time, they will have been built many months before they are registered in the UK. When I used to work for Citroen, we often had cars that were built a couple of years before being registered.

I currently work for VW Commercial, have a look at the Amarok, early ones (12 plates) are around £21995 plus VAT with full dealer warranty in Highline spec with sat nav and leather etc, might be able to find a more standard for a bit less. Helps greatly if you are a business and you can claim the VAT back, but not essential. We sell loads of these to customers coming out of L200's and Hilux due to poor ride compared to the Amarok. Better residuals and a much better build quality than the others, no bounce from the rear springs either.

I've got an 07 plate and the only thing I'd swap it for would be one of the new V6 petrol versions! I get 30 mpg locally and a bit more on a fast run. It actually costs me less to run that my Civic TypeR.
The early models had engine problems but I think the D40 models are ok and the Euro 3 version (ours) is better on fuel than the later versions.

Drives like a big car and doesn't mind a bit of mud when I go up the field to take sort the chickens. I've got my eye on an old defender but I'd be keeping the truck for day to day use.
The downsides are car parks are a bit short for them and the services cost about £500.

Another thing to bear in mind is that as a commercial vehicle with a gross vehicle weight of over 2.4t, you can only legally do 60mph on duel carriageways. My brother-in-law found this out the hard way doing 70mph with an Toyota Hilux on a duel carriageway in Cornwall. 3 points on his licence, ah well, don't like him much anyway :p

I have seen 3 of these in the last 2 weeks, 2 needed egr vales at £350 each and the other needed an alternator at a whopping £600 !! couldnt get an aftermarket one so customer bit the bullet and got one from the dealers!

After 57 plate the engines seem better, iv yet to see one blow up yet. Unlike the early ones which used to throw no3 conrod for fun !!!

Hi mate I had one as my work truck for two years and it was mainly used for towing a skid steer loader and 1.5 ton mini digger around sites it had no engine problems but did have a new clutch at 15000 miles. It was an absolute pig on diesel it only did about 23mpg. We changed it for a Ford Ranger Wildtrack 3.0 Litre that is a lot better on Diesel but the Nissan was far nicer to drive. If I remember rightly the ones that had bad engines were made between 2003- 2006. I hope yours is a good one.

Avoid and get a Disco or Land Cruiser ... had a 2.5dCi with 40k on clock when front drive shaft failed in the French Pyranees; fuel pressure switch at 40.5K and turbo failure at 44K. Average mpg 28.5mpg. NEVER again ... if you must have crew cab, a decent Mitsubishi Warrior is far more reliable and much tougher overall !
